Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

[...]

In the recording, a quick series of shots can be heard, followed by a pause and then another quick succession of shots.

"I personally heard at least 11" shots, the man's attorney, Lopa Blumenthal, told CNN's Don Lemon.

The man, who asked that his identity not be revealed, lives near the site of the shooting and was close enough to have heard the gunshots, Blumenthal said.

He was speaking to a friend on a video chat service and happened to be recording the conversation at the same time Brown was shot, Blumenthal said.

11 Shots in 5 seconds.
Short pause between 6 and the other five. Likely Brown was still coming at him.
Just more evidence.

Or just as likely that he was lying on the ground with blood seeping out of multiple bullet wounds, eh?

How can anyone really know if they weren't an eyewitness?

iLOL
You already know the evidence. So why are you speaking nonsense?
Or are you suggesting that the scheme teams non-official autopsy was wrong when it said all shots came from the front?

Eleven shots eh?
That's not at all consistent with the four to six the police are saying...hmmmmmm
...I wonder why they would lie about a thing like that.

I'm suggesting exactly what I said - that he was lying on the ground with blood seeping out of him.

Do you have any real evidence to the contrary?

If so. let's see it.

It can be proven. I'm sure they already know, even if it hasnt been released.

When the 2nd alleged set of shots was fired????

:doh
You are suggesting nonsense then.

I say it is likely Brown was still coming, hence the remaining shots.
You retort with just as likely to be laying on the ground with blood seeping out of him, which would follow what I stated, hence the remaining shots.

Your retort is not possible with what is known to us.
All shots came from the front of Brown, and as Brown was found front down, impossible.

What you have said sounds like nonsense to me.

In any case I doubt that any court will be interested in your opinion, since you weren't an eyewitness.

Listening to what they provided I heard 11 shots also. The coroner already confirmed that Brown had been shot in the front 6 times so there's really no use going over which direction Brown was facing when this happened.

The first set of shots equaled to 6. The second set equaled to 5.

What this tells me is that Brown was indeed moving forward. My reasoning for this is simple for anyone with any understanding of shooting a gun. It is much easier to hit a target that is not moving than it is to hit a target that is moving. Since Brown was only hit 6 times according to the coroner that means that the officer was shooting at a moving target. Even assuming that Brown was the claimed 30ft away my 9 year old son could have hit him at least 10 out of the 11 shots fired if he was standing still. I would expect even a half assed trained adult could have hit all 11 times if the target was not moving. So the only logical conclusion is that Brown was indeed moving towards the cop.

There is of course one other explanation, but quite frankly it borders on conspiracy theory and I hate those, besides it wouldn't hold up either.

PS EDIT: I've got a feeling that that "friend" that the person was chatting with was either A: more than just a friend or B: (more likely) That "friend" wasn't really a friend but one of those porn cam girls. ;)

So basically you're a second-hand ear-witness who wasn't there when it happened.

I'm sure that the court will be interested in your opinion.

Or maybe it won't be.

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

WhatI hear is the first set of six shots were while Brown was running away and Wilson was chasing him ...Only one of these shots hit Brown because of all the running movement by both, the grazing wound to the right fore-arm.
The pause was when Brown stopped and turned around putting up his hands and falling to his knees.
Now a still target, all the remaining five shots found their mark the last one entering the top of Browns head as he fell to the pavement,
That last one in the group of five was the murder round.
This all fits perfectly with eye-witness testimony of what they saw happen.
The disturbing part is the shot we didn't hear... the one supposedly fired as Brown was supposedly going for Wilson's gun in the car.
I'm sure that if we can hear the other shots this clearly that a shot even fired inside the car would still be audible through the open window.
If it was on the tape I suspect that CNN would have played it, but it starts with the group of six rounds...
Curious eh?

1: I'm just like everyone else on this board, just stating an opinion. No where did I claim that I would be in that court much less that the court would be interested in my opinion. So cut the crap. If you don't like others opinions why are you even on a debate site?

2: What I said was based on my knowledge of shooting a firearm and the coroners report...specifically the coroners report that the Brown family hired to do the autopsy and an audio that was provided by a valid news media outlet. It doesn't matter if I heard it second hand or not, I can still give an opinion on the information provided.

3: I never stated that what I stated was exactly how things went down, only that it is the logical conclusion based on the information provided and my own personal knowledge of shooting a firearm.

Read my post above and compare it to the four eye-witness accounts of what they saw and heard.

The audio is perfectly consistent with the witness accounts.

:doh:lamo:lamo:lamo:doh

There has been no credible evidence that he shot at Brown as Brown was running away.
Only as Brown moved towards him.
Nor is it a credible claim to begin with. As that is not the norm.
Brown's un-official autopsy indicated that all shots came from the front. All. You simply do not understand that.
Nor does all of the rounds being located on the right indicate anything other than they all came from the same direction.
Had he been shot moving away, the Officer's aim would have remained consistent and you would have found injuries on Brown's left backside.

What you have said sounds like nonsense to me.

Can it shrubnose.
Your position was shown to be incorrect as all shots came from the front.
And since your position can shown to be wrong, yours is what they wont be interested in.

This is exactly the kind of thread people shouldn't make until ALL the evidence is publicly available.
No Jerry.
This is exactly the kind of thread that should be made as the evidence becomes available.
What you are saying is akin to saying that no thread should be started until all the evidence is in, and that is just ridiculous.
Hey folks no Lois Lerner threads until all the evidence is in. :doh
Hey folks, no IRS threads about them targeting Conservative groups until all the evidence is in. :doh
No Jerry, it is exactly the type of thread that should be made to announce evidence as it becomes available.

This scenario doesn't fit.

1st: As I stated earlier it is much harder to shoot a moving target than a standing one. If it had happened the way that you are stating here then the officer would have been able to hit the torso quite easily, even at 30ft away. Yet according to the Brown family coroner only one shot hit the torso and that was more closer to the arm than anything else.

2nd: Regarding your grazing shot comment. Experts can tell what direction a grazing shot comes from and according to the Brown family coroner all 6 shots came from the front. So Brown couldn't possibly have been running away when that grazing shot hit him. Here's a slight explanation here.

Here is the Brown families coroner's picture of where the shots were. You will note that not one perforation is on the back side of the arms, torso, neck or head.

If I'm still around after that happens.

You are of course more than welcome to wait until the courts issue their opinions. No skin off my nose. Of course we'll just ignore the fact that you are giving your opinion anyways by what you are posting. ;) Even if that opinion is just disapproval for people posting on the subject one way or another or even in the middle. Makes one wonder why you even keep posting in these threads with such a position though. How many times have you posted in this thread now? What's the point?

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

Watch this video of the autopsy press conference.
See 12:40 to 14:00 where it is explained that the grazing wound on the right fore arm could be consistent with Brown being wounded while moving away from the shooter.

This is also consistent with the eyewitness accounts.
My scenario fits perfectly.

No thread should be started until all evidence is in. On any topic. Ever. Only with ALL the evidence can we determin if it was a good shot or a crime. Only then is a public discussion of any real value.

To do otherwise is to gossip, and gossip is for small minds.

Brown's un-official autopsy indicated that all shots came from the front.
No you are wrong my top hatted feline friend.
See the autopsy press conference video from 12:40 to 14:00 where it is plainly explained that the grazing wound on the forearm COULD have been received while Brown was running AWAY from the shooter, consistent with the four eye-witness accounts.

Four Eye-witness accounts AND autopsy findings AND the audio tape timing of the shots all line up with each other.
