Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot[W:72,732]

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

You just don't like what's being said.

No, I don't like listening to the musings of a seething idiot. I dont suffer fools well

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

Autopsy results have been released.

He wasn't shot in the " stomach "

Right now grab your right forearm with your left hand and tell us where your arms would be if you weighed 300 pounds.

I just listened to it again and the pause is easily a slow three count.
Plenty of time to turn and raise his hands simultaneously.
Witness accounts are that Brown went down during the gunfire not before it.
They say Wilson fired as Brown went down all the way to the ground.
There is no way this timing couldn't fit the actions.

Johnson said he fell to his knees with his hands up...

Of-course he went down as the LEO was firing. He was charging Wilson. The firing started when Brown started charging Wilson.

Excuse me, torso.

LOL !

Uhm, no matter how big you are, your forearm is NOT your stomach.

Excuse me, torso.

Huh ??

Torso ? So you double over in pain if shot in the chest ?

I certainly might drop my hands and fall to the ground.

Stop running, which includes the time it takes to slow a 300 pound body to a halt, turn around, go down to your knees with your hands raised in the amount of time between the shots ? No way

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

I certainly might drop my hands and fall to the ground.

Especially if you were running full speed at a cop you just attacked.

Instinct would have you lower your hands to stop the fall

I don't believe Brown was charging the officer. I do believe the officer shot Brown in the head as he was falling to the ground, or already on the ground.

You don't believe THIS candid witness account that was heard and recorded at the scene that verified Wilson's version of events ?

Why would this guy lie ??

No.
Johnson says "he turned around with his hands up"... "and when he started to get down the officer continued to approach with his weapon and fired several more shots.". Tiffany Mitchel says "...and the officer continues shooting as he goes down to the ground"

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

They say he had his arms up when he turned around. He probably lowered his arms in a defensive posture as he realized that there were more shots to come.

You see this is the problem with your theory.

That guy says " dude started running, then come on towards the police."
He is explaining the sequence of events that Brown was running away and then turned towards the police. The printed text is put there to lead what you hear.
Close you eyes and listen to that passage without a preconceived notion of what he said.
With all the background noise there are many possible interpretations of what he was expressing.
This right wing presentation is telling you what they want you to hear.
BTW we do not have a "Wilson version of events"
He never filled out an incident report.

What is the problem with it? I can only conjecture Browns motivation for lowering his arms. A witness account tells us that is what he did.

Slow count one...two...three... what's the problem?

Count 1001,1002,1003, but knock off the 3.

That's exactly how long it took
About three seconds.
No one has said that the stopping, tuning or the hands going up had to start exactly after the last shot in the first group ended nor is anyone saying that he had to be on his knees before the second group of shots started.
Those are constraints that you have apparently put on the situation yourself.
Even with those constraints there is still time for all those actions to have taken place.

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

More importantly - if the initial autopsy findings are still valid - he was hit six times. That's 5 bullets that missed the target and could have wound up in some innocent. Maybe giving cops guns with 15 round mags and access to rifles isn't such a hot idea.

Yeah because the alternative is not being able to stop attackers and dangers to society, period.

Police do have to check for bystanders when they shoot...it puts them and any other law-abiding shooter at a disadvantage since criminals dont bother. Sometimes cops have hit bystanders but I dont know that it's common. Are you claiming they are intentionally careless? There is training for that, and a couple of techniques (at least a couple) that help avoid hitting bystanders.

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

Frankly yes CJ. The officer's safety is never at the expense of the general population as far as I'm concerned.

THat is at the expense of the public's safety...the criminal goes free....perhaps with the cops' gun. He was and still is a public threat to safety. He just killed a cop.

and many of the magazines are 17 capacity, plus 1 in the chamber :)

He doesn't.
A basketball player can stop and turn a 180 in about a tenth of a second. There is a lot more time than that in that pause.

And yet you ignore the info posted, linked to, on the Tueller drill and how it has proven that an attacker can cover 21 feet in 1.5 seconds to kill before a cop can draw, aim, and fire.

Just like the stuff that supports your belief, huh? I mean, who needs actual facts?

No not intentionally careless. It does seem to me though that in a number of recent shootings the officers emptied their weapons or came close to it and its clear that that was strictly necessary. It also seems that missing a human sized target at 30 feet half the time isn't particularly good marksmanship. What that says to me is that there was lots of adrenaline and not a lot of careful aiming. Understandable? Probably. But all that lead flying around not be stopped by the bad guy's body puts innocent people at risk.

I only have 6. :)

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

WhatI hear is the first set of six shots were while Brown was running away and Wilson was chasing him ...Only one of these shots hit Brown because of all the running movement by both, the grazing wound to the right fore-arm.
The pause was when Brown stopped and turned around putting up his hands and falling to his knees.
Now a still target, all the remaining five shots found their mark the last one entering the top of Browns head as he fell to the pavement,
That last one in the group of five was the murder round.
This all fits perfectly with eye-witness testimony of what they saw happen.
The disturbing part is the shot we didn't hear... the one supposedly fired as Brown was supposedly going for Wilson's gun in the car.
I'm sure that if we can hear the other shots this clearly that a shot even fired inside the car would still be audible through the open window.
If it was on the tape I suspect that CNN would have played it, but it starts with the group of six rounds...
Curious eh?
Hrm interesting point. Where is the wrestling gunshot?

Re: Attorney: New audio reveals pause in gunfire when Michael Brown was shot

wow, I thought you people were only experts on how many shots it takes to stop a charging perp. Now you can dissect and identify the shots to conclude the guilt of the shooter.
you people should all be working for the FBI. your talents are being wasted!
