U.S. Officials: Video Shows Beheading Of American Journalist

Just another example of Americans dying because of our government's policy of interventionism.

How very French of you.

Heya EB. :2wave: I don't know about Freedom Fighters.....but we do need to start going after these Reporters and destroying their careers. All those that keep calling them Militants and Jihadis when referring to the Terrorists. They are Terrorists....nothing else and nothing more. A Diseased Animal than needs not be around the rest of the flock.

That's the Word they are looking to avoid using. Terrorists!

Rather than 'destroying their careers', I'd think it's more a case of holding them accountable for what foolishness they broadcast.

Won't work.....they will just move to another place in the industry. That's why; it is the way, it is now. Which then it just continues to spread with all who they work with.

Beyond disgusting, they are revolting animals.

I have no doubt that he knew the dangers involved in front-line journalism, his prior experiences and the fact he chose to continue is testament to that. No one ever said that stepping into a zone where no one else wants to go will be safe and easy. For some, the passion to carry on regardless, is stronger than most will ever understand. He was a brilliant journalist and being familiar with his fundraising efforts and reporting relating to the struggles of Aleppo's Dar al-Shifa hospital, this has been terrible news.

RIP James and condolences to his family and friends.

Animals wouldn't stoop this low. I am glad the video was taken down, hopefully everywhere.

Conservatives are the ones that have been against this practice claiming that women shouldn't be on the front lines.

Well, first, these are Navy (and Airforce) pilots, not quite the front line combatants. The "Conservatives" have long since romanticized the female fighter pilot.

Second, female front line fighters in the US military is a lot different than a female PKK fighter fighting in her backyard. If the duty requirement doesn't involve huffing 80lbs to 100lbs of gear all over hell's half acre then there is no physical limitation for a woman in that capacity, and I believe many women serve in that capacity as MPs on military bases.

Should we lower military fitness requirements to allow women in the military just to spook ISIS? I don't think that is necessary. The president says he isn't putting boots on the ground anyway.

Define "unclean" and how that can be exploited.

You don't even need to do anything other than tell ISIS that the bullets have been dipped in pigs blood, or the barrel greased with lard. They are not bright people.

My favorite story about how stupid jihadists are came out of fight in Libya. At one point Al Qaeda annexed a military complex in Eastern Iraq that was filled with ammunition that they happily delivered to the front lines. It turns out that the ammunition in question were training rounds, blanks. They didn't know any better. The front lines became confused as they were unable to hit any of the Libyan forces.

Rater than check the ammo the fighters came to the only possible conclusion: Witchcraft.

This is the same caliber of thinking that drives the front line ISIS fighters. Fight their superstitions and they will break.

Don't see how unless you also want to create a bunch of psycopaths. It's one thing to shoot someone it's another to get up and close to cut off their head while they are still alive. You have to have seriously disconnected persons to do this and re-integrating them into society afterwords is going to be a real problem.

I have long half-joked about the solution to the war in Afghanistan is to for a battalion of Gurkha rangers to specifically behead Taliban fighters. These Gurkha are not psychopaths, but they are (to quote TAKEN) gifted with a particular set of skills. Gurkha have been feared by the enemy for their uncanny ability to move and kill at night and their fearlessness in the face of gunfire. During WWII they unnerved the Japanese by sneaking behind enemy lines and decapitating soldiers as they slept, as well as tearing through enemy lines under heavy fire with nothing but their kukri, lopping heads off of the enemy as the went.

They are a legend that ISIS would soon learn about. They would know why the Gurkha were sent to Iraq: To remove ISIS heads from ISIS shoulders.

Use the Gurkha to run night missions into enemy camps. Let the ISIS soldiers wake up each day to see who else lost their head overnight.

There is a funny story about a Gurkha platoon in Afghanistan that was sent into Pakistan to capture or kill a warlord that was sending attacks across the border. When they returned the following exchange took place:

Commanding Officer: 'Did you get him?'
Soldier: 'Yes, sir.'
Commanding Officer: 'Are you sure?'
Soldier: 'Yes, sir.'

The soldier then reached into his rucksack and placed the severed head on the table..

We shouldn't be disciplining these soldiers, we should be giving them medals.

Well if they believe being burned denies them to heaven, a very large bomb can do that.

It might, but they seem to have no problem differentiating between dying by bomb and dying by fire. They think a suicide bomber goes to heaven even though he is blown to bits. Burning the body, for whatever reason, is different to them.

In most of those instances you also rob the people fighting them of their humanity.

Not really. Other than the beheading there is nothing all that different from fighting a war. But, as I have already stated, the beheading we would contract out to the professionals.

The method of fighting ISIS is right in front of us, they project their weakness, but we seem unable to exploit it. ISIS is a death cult with a very particular spiritual dogma that governs whether or not they will get into heaven. When you challenge those beliefs by killing them in a manner that ensures -- in their minds -- that they won't go to heaven their will starts to crumble. We have already seen this happening on the Kurdish front.

Among their exploitable weaknesses:

1) If you are killed by a woman you don't go to heaven. The Kurdish army has units of only female fighters that ISIS has a real hard time dealing with because suddenly facing women who are killing them they lose feeling of invulnerability. We can exploit this by sending in female Navy pilots to bomb ISIS positions and let them know it was women killing them.

2) The well known belief of the dying unclean send you to hell can be easily exploited.

3) They believe that being decapitated robs you of heaven. We may need to exploit this.

4) They believe that being burn denies you heaven. Refuse to bury their dead as they lose ground. Instead burn them on piers in plain sight.

When you do this you rob them of their sense of invulnerability.

Contemplating such action makes us better than they how? This poses a real conflict for me.
I understand that they need to be stopped, but being as vengeful as they is just as appalling. Saying so probably won't go over well, that's understood. :)

I saw the same video Beau, and in between crying and shaking, I didn't know what to do. It's going to haunt me forever. My heart goes out to his family.

Those people are maniacal bastards, and on the verge of being sub-human.

Oh, I am certain they crossed into sub-human long ago.

When one considers the society and standards from which they live and aspire, it's clear nature, or whatever you want to call it, is in the process of removing this sub-species from the face of the earth.

Can't happen fast enough, and given their current course of actions, these things will likely get a hand by the rest of the world in speeding their elimination.

Such is why we don't win wars anymore. In World War II, we didn't quibble with such things. We just won.

It makes us better because we wouldn't be walking into villages and murdering every man woman and child. We wouldn't be stripping women nude and slitting their throats and draining their blood into a bucket. We wouldn't be decapitating news reporters. We wouldn't be decapitating infants. I can provide video and photo evidence of all of this upon request.

There is no moral equivalency between killing ISIS animals and ISIS animals murdering civilians.

So long as you don't waterboard them. The liberals won't have it.

I really get tempted to post the photos and videos when these moral equivalency arguments start. I don;t watch most of the videos anymore because I have had my fill. I need no further convincing that these are inhuman monsters that need to be put down like a sick dog.

I removed my #5 suggestion of creating a K-9 battalion that we would use to storm ISIS strongholds and have the dogs kill them... but only because that would be cruel to the dogs.

It's **** like this that makes me so infuriates when people attempt the ridiculous moral equivocal between the US government and those it captures and groups like ISIS

We have long since adopted the Neville Chamberlain/Noam Chomsky view of how the United States should fair in the world....It was confirmed by the last two elections.

You people do realize that ISIS/L are the ideological equivalent of HAMAS, right?

Looks like the Brits have jumped onto finding out who this Terrorist is with the British accent.....some say from London.

UK 'urgently investigates' suspected British executioner in Foley video.....

British Foreign Minister Philip Hammond says that the government is "urgently investigating" the identity of the apparently British executioner of US reporter James Foley, whose death was shown in a video released by members of the self-declared Islamic State in Syria. The IS member's apparent ties to Britain highlight increasing concern in the West about the radicalization of European and American nationals by jihadi groups and the threat they pose if they return home.

The video published overnight on YouTube shows the hooded, black-clad IS member speaking extensively in both English and Arabic before killing an orange-jumpsuited man described as "James Wright Foley, an American citizen." In what the Daily Telegraph describes as a London accent, the executioner says that the US has "been at the forefront of the aggression towards the Islamic State," before killing Foley.....snip~

Is this really shocking? We knew these guys were nuts to begin with. Do we care about drone strikes to kill them? Just wondering. I'm on the fence.

We need to contain them. That is given. If the UK wants to take the lead on dealing with these nuts...I'm sure we have a few SEALs and Delta ops with some experience willing to help out.

James Foley's mother posts statement after journalist killed by ISIS: 'We thank Jim for all the joy he gave us'.....

Diane Foley, the mother of journalist James Foley, wrote this message Tuesday evening, following the earlier posting of a video online by the organization Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. The video showed Foley, who had been abducted in 2012 while covering the conflict in Syria, being murdered by ISIS militants.

We have never been prouder of our son Jim. He gave his life trying to expose the world to the suffering of the Syrian people. We implore the kidnappers to spare the lives of the remaining hostages. Like Jim, they are innocents. They have no control over American government policy in Iraq, Syria, or anywhere in the world.....snip~

Obama made a speech this morning about this incident............I have to admit I was impressed but talk is cheap. take these bastards out!!!!!!

Why even watch the video? Our media outlets here aren't showing it and i'm not searching for it on the internet. I won't give those pigs the satisfaction.

That's what these ****heads want you do.....They want to **** with you and get in your head.

They're scum, don't allow them to manipulate you like that.

Why? Because if I am to understand the full extent of the threat these people pose to our way of life, I need a true and real education regarding their tactics and just how dangerous they actually are. Just to hear a story told, doesn't have the same impact as seeing the act.

For instance, those of us that saw the Twin Towers when they fell, felt that tragedy in our hearts - even those that just saw it on TV. Those of us that saw it first hand, and had to work in the rubble looking for bodies, have an even more unique perspective on those that perpetrated that act of terrorism.

I don't get any pleasure from watching such videos. Yet I feel that I owe it to the man that was killed to understand as well as I can what he endured in our name at the hands of these monsters.

Explain? Significance?

Two Sunni Terrorist organizations bent on removing any other religious influence in the area and also bent on establishing Theocratic control of the region. Hamas is little different in their aims towards jews than ISIS' towards christians, jews, yezzidis and shi'a.

Significance? Really?

Heya NP. :2wave: What was so impressive about BO peep's speech?

James Foley's parents: 'He was a martyr, a martyr for freedom'.....

In a press conference on Martha's Vineyard, Obama said he was “heartbroken” by the beheading of Foley at the hands of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS). “Jim was taken from us in an act of violence that shocks the conscience of the entire world,” the president said. Obama said he had spoken to Foley’s parents and told them “we are all heartbroken at their loss and join them in honoring Jim and all that he did.”

The Foleys said they never lost hope that their son would come home. His last words, they said, were: “I wish I had more time to see my family.”.....snip~
