Conservatives are the ones that have been against this practice claiming that women shouldn't be on the front lines.
Well, first, these are Navy (and Airforce) pilots, not quite the front line combatants. The "Conservatives" have long since romanticized the female fighter pilot.
Second, female front line fighters in the US military is a lot different than a female PKK fighter fighting in her backyard. If the duty requirement doesn't involve huffing 80lbs to 100lbs of gear all over hell's half acre then there is no physical limitation for a woman in that capacity, and I believe many women serve in that capacity as MPs on military bases.
Should we lower military fitness requirements to allow women in the military just to spook ISIS? I don't think that is necessary. The president says he isn't putting boots on the ground anyway.
Define "unclean" and how that can be exploited.
You don't even need to do anything other than tell ISIS that the bullets have been dipped in pigs blood, or the barrel greased with lard. They are not bright people.
My favorite story about how stupid jihadists are came out of fight in Libya. At one point Al Qaeda annexed a military complex in Eastern Iraq that was filled with ammunition that they happily delivered to the front lines. It turns out that the ammunition in question were training rounds, blanks. They didn't know any better. The front lines became confused as they were unable to hit any of the Libyan forces.
Rater than check the ammo the fighters came to the only possible conclusion: Witchcraft.
This is the same caliber of thinking that drives the front line ISIS fighters. Fight their superstitions and they will break.
Don't see how unless you also want to create a bunch of psycopaths. It's one thing to shoot someone it's another to get up and close to cut off their head while they are still alive. You have to have seriously disconnected persons to do this and re-integrating them into society afterwords is going to be a real problem.
I have long half-joked about the solution to the war in Afghanistan is to for a battalion of Gurkha rangers to specifically behead Taliban fighters. These Gurkha are not psychopaths, but they are (to quote TAKEN) gifted with a particular set of skills. Gurkha have been feared by the enemy for their uncanny ability to move and kill at night and their fearlessness in the face of gunfire. During WWII they unnerved the Japanese by sneaking behind enemy lines and decapitating soldiers as they slept, as well as tearing through enemy lines under heavy fire with nothing but their kukri, lopping heads off of the enemy as the went.
They are a legend that ISIS would soon learn about. They would know why the Gurkha were sent to Iraq: To remove ISIS heads from ISIS shoulders.
Use the Gurkha to run night missions into enemy camps. Let the ISIS soldiers wake up each day to see who else lost their head overnight.
There is a funny story about a Gurkha platoon in Afghanistan that was sent into Pakistan to capture or kill a warlord that was sending attacks across the border. When they returned the following exchange took place:
Commanding Officer: 'Did you get him?'
Soldier: 'Yes, sir.'
Commanding Officer: 'Are you sure?'
Soldier: 'Yes, sir.'
The soldier then reached into his rucksack and
placed the severed head on the table..
We shouldn't be disciplining these soldiers, we should be giving them medals.
Well if they believe being burned denies them to heaven, a very large bomb can do that.
It might, but they seem to have no problem differentiating between dying by bomb and dying by fire. They think a suicide bomber goes to heaven even though he is blown to bits. Burning the body, for whatever reason, is different to them.
In most of those instances you also rob the people fighting them of their humanity.
Not really. Other than the beheading there is nothing all that different from fighting a war. But, as I have already stated, the beheading we would contract out to the professionals.
