It seems like a legitimate lawsuit to me.
Unless his sentence was to be raped by his cellmate 3 times, the state had a responsibility to protect him to the best of its ability while he was locked up. It seems like they failed to do so.
The news story also made it seem like this happened before he went to trial or entered the guilty plea. Which if true makes it especially inexcusable.
If you build a man a fire, he'll be warm for a day.
If you set a man on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
That is for the prison system to figure out. Until they figure it out I'm 100% behind all lawsuits that hold them accountable. Maybe putting dangerous people in a cage with someone else is a stupid idea?So what's your suggestion on how to avoid having cell mates rape each other?
