If you were to look at curfews set on the youth it's becomes obvious that all they do is waste government resources and strain the relationship between cops and those they are imposed on. It's not at all different for curfews set on the general population and it would better suit the police to deal with criminals than to impose themselves on everyone.

It sounds more like there are a lot of folks in that town that think the law doesn't apply to them.

Oh, and I would rather pick the mob than be a prisoner. It's the difference between a sure thing and a possibility.

The governor has the legal authority to impose emergency curfews. Curfews mean "stay indoors" not simply "be on your property". They violated the curfew and were arrested for it.

Why pick now to be defiant, is buddies life worth being right... I say no...if you have to smoke do so from the house with your window up and your head out, I don't care. A curfew is just that. This is exactly what that black preacher was talking about in the other thread...don't do stupid things...use your head. Stay safe.

okay kudos to you, if you thinking dying for a cigarette in your car is worth being right. I personally am into choosing my battles and living to fight another day, when I can win.
Bottom line, might is right, they have the curfew and the fire power, you have one life...why waste it?
If you think there is even a CHANCE the police could possible "accidentally" kill a man for smoking a cigerette on private property then... well... ummm.. something is wrong with the state of police?

This reminds me of the restrictions put in place by someone - city or police department? - after the Boston Marathon bombings and shootings. Apparently they have the authority to keep people in their homes. I'm not sure I like that, either, but to be on the safe side, I guess I would obey.

    Greetings, Lutherf.

Im a peaceful guy. But I also dont tolerate bull****. If a cop tells me I have to stay inside the very first thing im going to do is sit my ass right on my porch. Just because they have a badge doesnt mean they can bully. Well it can... but that doesnt mean im going to respect them. Its insane that a cop would point a deadly weapon at this guy for being on welcomed private property doing nothing. People taking the cops on this side are ****ing insane.
