As opposed to the most recent intervention where they used first warnings, followed by sound waves, then tear gas, and as a last result rubber bullets. No one was beaten with night sticks. Crowd was effectively dispersed. For all your histrionics over their attire, they were effective, efficient, and fast.
They waded in with riot gear and beat the **** out of people. They used hoses and dogs.More like "police responded....riot stopped" versus "police didn't respond....riot continued".
Again how did police deal with riots in the days before they had all that surplus army hardware?
