Michael Brown was a robbery suspect before he was shot to death, police say

If the cop was going to shoot him for stealing a cigar there probably wouldn't have been any confrontation. A simple shot to the back of the head while driving by would have sufficed.

I'm trying to keep my replies reasonable but the level of ridiculous in this discussion is making that difficult. My Sarcast-o-Meter redlined an hour ago.

OK....one more time....

From all appearances it seems that Brown and his buddy stole some stuff from a convenience store. They were then confronted by a cop, some kind of altercation occurred and Brown ended up dead. That much shouldn't be in dispute but by now, who the hell knows.

The question at hand is how the altercation started. Maybe the cop mouthed off at Brown. Maybe Brown mouthed off at the cop. Maybe the cop pushed Brown with the door of his car. Maybe Brown pushed the car door back into the cop. Maybe Brown punched the cop in the face. Maybe the cop bashed his face getting out of the car. Maybe the cop flipped out and shot Brown for ****s and grins. Maybe Brown rushed the cop and got shot in self defense.

That's a whole lot of maybe's and we don't have much to go on other than "witness" accounts by interested parties from both sides. The sane thing to do under such circumstances would be to chill out and wait until we get some more facts but, apparently, that isn't going to happen because a whole lot of folks have decided to fill in the blanks for themselves and turn a deaf ear to any and all other opinions.

I guess resisting arrest and trying to fight a police officer and steal his firearm is conveniently not included in your assessment of the situation. I mean, it has already been shown that the side you are taking has major credibility issues. Little evidence exists that this officer has credibility issues. Unless you are privy to evidence that this is a problem officer that none of the rest of us are that is.

You should review the thread and maybe you'd see you're responding to the wrong poster by quoting me.

In a secluded area, where there were no witnesses.

My bad, you are right. Posts about someone's children make me twitchy like that. I shouldn't lump the country in with that kind of a trolling post.

As you said, a league all his own.

Only if you believe in Karma.

BTW, your feigned, hypocritical shock is duly noted.

Shocked? I'm not shocked in the least when Liberals show their true colors.

I am responding to whoever made that post... if its not you, sorry

I'd like to agree with you, but seems there are a few on this site who are shameless and despicable.

Shameless, despicable folks come in all shapes and sizes. Yes, I know, it's just a message board and blah-blah-blah, but what scares me is that vile posts are coming from an authentic place in someone's head.

I can't think of many Liberals here or anywhere else who would post something that sick. That one is in a league of his own.

He said what the rest of them are thinking.

Yup, it's a view into what's inside his head. And it's scary as ****.

I would hope that those on the left would agree that his post was filth and absolutely inappropriate.

A more accurate headline is "Police shoot 17 year old for stealing a cigar"

But that's not accurate at all.

I mean sure, that's the kind of mindless twisting of reality that the Rioters use to justify their lawlessness, but it's NOT accurate.

No, until one of them posts it, I won't believe that. I don't always agree with the Libs on here, but I don't remember a post from a Lib being that ****ed up.

If there are people posting on here who think it's in any way appropriate that something should happen to an innocent child of a cop - or anyone else for that matter - I don't want to know about it anyway. That one post was enough for me.

Ok, I am really confused now....The Police chief said today that this officer was not responding to the cigar theft...Seems like both sides are kind of blurring intentionally....

I agree - such views would never enter my mind and I have no interest trying to figure out what makes some people tick.

Let's see if there's a thread created by the liberals from the Rush Limbaugh/Robin Williams thread who claimed they always call out disgraceful comments by liberals that go over the line. They claim not to be hypocrites - we'll see.

I could name a couple who frequently claim the mighty holy high ground on such issues, but never do a damn thing - we'll see.

Interesting. I guess now witnesses are saying that Brown never attacked the cop. But that the cop was trying to pull brown into the car through the window and brown was trying to pull away and back off. Then the cop shot him as the COP chose to wrestle with him. Then Brown ran. So I guess now if a cop decides to assualt you he has a right to shoot you?

The chief is going to scrifice Wilson, to save his own ass. Til now he thought he could appear to support Wilson, then back-peddle when Wilson got convicted. The more facts that come out, the less guilty Wilson looks.

I wonder the chief of police is elected. The mayor damn sure is and he hires the chief.

It's shameful how Wilson is going to be run rough-shod through a kangaroo court.

Wilson was trying to pull a 6'4", 300 pound dude through the window, INTO the car?

Yeah, that story sounds perfectly realistic!

Yeah, cops often try arresting 6'4", 300 pound suspects by pulling them through the car window. I'm totally buying that explanation

Most of the time cops get away with this kind of action. It's time it should be addressed and corrected.
