Well, it was just a matter of time before we would start seeing things like this. Ever since ISIL and their Leader stated they want to see their Flag Flying over the White house. I am surprised something like this didn't happen sooner. The reporter says if Authentic.....might be a clue with Secret Service, the FBI, and DHS all looking into the matter.....huh? What say ye?



The Secret Service said it is "aware" of a photo that appeared to show an image of an ISIS flag in front of the White House. If authentic, the photo showed a hand holding up an image of a flag for ISIS (also known as ISIL or Islamic State), displayed on a smartphone, on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House fence. That area, closed off to street traffic, is frequented by thousands of tourists every day.

"We have an intelligence division whose mission is to assess information that we receive every day for dangerousness or potential threat level," Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan told ABC News. "We are aware of the image and will take the necessary and appropriate follow up steps." The Secret Service did not respond to an additional question about whether the tweet was believed to be authentic. The FBI has not yet responded to ABC News' request for comment on the tweet, its suspected origin, or whether it signifies a serious threat to the U.S.....snip~

I don't see why anybody cares. It's a picture of a cellphone with a picture on it. Stop the presses, start the panic.

Mornin RA. :2wave: Well you know ABC of the MS Media isn't going to pass on the story. But I wouldn't worry about it running any 3 day news cycle.


What will be real interesting.....is when their supporters start passing leaflets around here in the US. Like they are doing in Britain.

Alright, so for those interested, I ran some tests and:

1. The cellphone is a white iPhone 4 (couldn't tell if it's the S version).
2. There are artifacts where there shouldn't be and in areas of the image where shouldn't be (highly unusual if the image isn't doctored)
3. I looked at images to corroborate the angle at which it was taken (in short, to see what would be seen if a person was standing in that spot) and find it suspicious that the bushes in the WH's law can be seen but not the fense directly in front of it. It's not all that damning, but it essentially tells me the image was taken from inside WH grounds.
4. The circumstance of it all seems odd and would be very likely to get the person caught even if they had taken it. Just how many people are standing in the middle of the night, holding up a cellphone aimed at the WH with another camera/cellphone aimed at that cellphone? Yeah. If this isn't fake (and I doubt it's real), whomever took it wasn't too bright.

Well they know where it came from.....I wonder why the US Senior Intel Official didn't show ABC the other photo. Would have been nice to see that one.

It was tweeted from an apparently pro-ISIS Twitter handle @sunna_rev on Aug. 9. A senior U.S. intelligence official told ABC that use of Twitter is consistent with ISIS practices. The group has shown to be at the forefront of social-media use among terrorist and militant groups, the official said.

Another photo displayed a note handwritten in Arabic. It read, "Soldiers of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria will pass from here soon," followed by a Koran verse that read, "and Allah is perfecting His Light even though the disbelievers hate (that)." In the image, the note was dated June 20, 2014. It was unclear where the photo was taken, but two American flags appeared over an arched entryway. "We are in your state / We are in your cities / We are in your streets," the tweets read.....snip~

It is something for law enforcement to keep an eye on, which it is said they are doing.

I'm not sure where we're going here - this is a reason to nuke Iraq or something? A person with sympathies toward that group expressed an opinion on social media. They have a right to do that. I think that person is crazy and should be watched by law enforcement to see who they are and what they are doing.

Heya 88 :2wave: Yep.....and they are doing it in Britain where they can pass out leaflets about their Caliphate. All legal under Freedom of speech. Their people who support their way of life and Sharia Law.

Like I have mentioned.....wait until they start doing it here in the US. Using US law to have their supporters Rights protected.

It's been reported the IS have members with passports, so I'm not surprised nor shocked with this picture or to hear of the other photo.

The words of Abu Mosa, a spokesperson for ISIS said:

"I say to America that the Islamic caliphate has been established."

"Don’t be cowards and attack us with drones. Instead send your soldiers, the ones we humiliated in Iraq. We will humiliate them everywhere, God willing, and we will raise the flag of Allah in the White House."

There is no doubt IS growing by large numbers if the reports are correct, and the brutality of their efforts is over whelming in particular if the Taliban backs away.

Will be interesting watching administration address this issue. Was sad that Obama gave those people 'hope' on the mountain then 'change' when he pulled back without rescuing all of them.

I know what you mean.....but just like the MB here in the US. They would be legal as long as their leaflets are not calling for violence. Which the ones that were shown.....didn't. They could hold rallies and demonstrations using our own Law. All being legal.

That's if they can hold their Caliphate.....today, Maliki stepped down. So now hopefully some that were fighting with ISIL will split from them.

Obama's only acting within his character. He did pretty much the same thing to the electorate here. A bunch of Hope that only Changed when the electorate's votes were no longer needed.

Well, I wouldn't believe all that BS by the MS media about how AQ has denounced them. May have been that way before.....not now.

As we know AQAP is working with ISIL. Which as all know BO and his Team classify AQAP as the most dangerous of all AQ.

I guess it would be like the Westboro Church Members protesting at soldier's funerals. I have heard though that a few people have made things for the Westboro less than welcoming.

There are ways to make a person feel uncomfortable without having to spend the night in jail yourself.

if the BHO team thought AQAH was dangerous they now have double danger on the horizon.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) published a statement on its Al-Manbar website on August 14 announcing support for the operations of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), which now calls itself the Islamic State, in Iraq.

“We announce solidarity with our Muslim brothers in Iraq against the crusade. Their blood and injuries are ours and we will surely support them,” the statement read. “We assert to the Islamic Nation [all Muslims worldwide] that we stand by the side of our Muslim brothers in Iraq against the American and Iranian conspiracy and their agents of the apostate Gulf rulers.”

Many observers note that AQAP and ISIL are using similar tactics and are exchanging strategy and advice.

Hi ya MMC, hope the day is treating you well :)

Thanks for the links, I'll read up.

I keep up with the news but don't always have time to read the board and post. It's mesmerizing listening to the administration sashay back and forth from being in crisis mode to saying nothing to look at here, move along. Only to read a day later a Islamic State militants have 'massacred' at least 80 Yazidis, 300 women were kidnapped, some victims were buried alive and now a journalist being beheading.

No doubt they have had plenty of time to arm themselves, many with US weapons while we sat back and waited until BHO thought the US would be in danger, or actually that BHO would be in danger when they threatened to put their/ISIL flag over the his house -White House did he do something to fight the bloody terrorists. He won't even call them terrorists.

ISIL has proven they are a force to be reckoned with, time will tell what what our leadership or lack of it will do about if they move forward on to Europe and here.

I can't complain.....the same to you. Him....nor the MS Media. They tend to have trouble with that word.
