I'd forgotten about the voice over character role.

Robin Williams remains one of my all-time funniest comedians. He's up there with Richard Pryor, Dave Chappell, Chris Rock, Jeff Dunham and John Bellushi. Extremely witty; the man literally couldn't go five minutes in social conversation without either shifting into some character or adlibbing humor. Of all the interviews I've watched of him, I can recall only one where he just spoke without cracking a joke. But that was Robin Williams...always the comedian.

Earth has lost a very brilliant comedian and kind hearted man. The Heavens are now filled with laughter. May Robin Williams RIP.

Amazing how many people cannot have a civil thread to remember the dead.

Excellent list. All very impactful, as Williams was, and all side splitting funny.

I never wanted to swear around my kids, so whenever anything bothered me I'd say "Shazbot" instead of ****. I forgot until I heard a bunch of clips from Mork & Mindy all day today that it originated with Williams. Weird how people impact your daily life and you don't even realize it.

It's somehow extra sad to see a man feel so destitute even while he had so much. It's the way of depression, I suppose.

I've always had the same reaction to this issue.

An initial feeling of disgust folowed by a little sadness followed by irritation.

For the person who just decided to end their life and for the issue in general.

Not sure why, but I think part of it is I see it as a total and unequivocal surrender of a incredible gift.

When I first saw him on an episode of Happy Days, I couldn't stand him. I thought he was shallow and very unfunny. Didn't like him on Mork and Mindy either. However, after that, RW progressed to a point where I became very impressed at his ability, and realized that he was an elite among actors. Sometimes, great actors start off by playing not so great parts, but even with those horrible characters he was given to play in the beginning, he did a decent job. After that, with some more seasoning, he became worthy of fame, and I put him right up there with Charlie Chaplin, the Marx Brothers, Red Skelton, and other icons of comedy. He will be sorely missed.

As a rule, the person who is truly suicidal, is not in a rational state of mind. I've been seriously and clinically depressed several times over my lifetime, and I can understand how and why this happens. The only reason I am still around is that I have a serious philosophical aversion to suicide that overrides the deep despair that depression can cause, and even in my deepest darkest times, my rational mind still functions. This is a tragic thing that happened. I can feel nothing but incredible sadness for him, and for everyone who loved him.

Very true and I guess I should probably take that into consideration.

Well, to be honest, I don't expect anyone to take that into consideration, if they haven't been there themselves. I used to feel the same way as you, until I understood it from the other side. I wasn't offended at all- just explaining a different view.
