What difference does it make? I asked Perotista a question about Voetnam, because HE WAS THERE.

What unit were you in? The 357th Airborne Horse Artillery Battalion?

Saying we should have let Saddam keep Kuwait and invade Saudi Arabia.
Papa Bush knew what he was doing keeping the buffer Saddam--as sick as that may be in a sick world.

Just think, if Saddam was around and had taken out the Saudis, they wouldn't be funding ISIS .

The GOP is all Indians, and no Chiefs. When the dems lose the senate we can see how they like the new situation.

Re: Obama, With Reluctance, Returns to Action in Iraq

This could have all been avoided if we had taken Saddam out the first time and were fully committed to building a democracy in Iraq. We did not send in enough troops, We NEEDED to occupy and control Iraq and then after 2-3 decades, return full control to the Iraqi government. It needed to be done the way Japan was done after WW2. Instead, we went in half assed, did a poor job because we politicized the war instead of fighting it like we have done with every war since WW2. The politicalization of war since WW2 has been a failing strategy. Once we decide to declare war, politicians should be hands off and allow the military to do what needs to be done to get the job done. Ever since the vietnam war protests started, our country has been in decline. That is when PC started. I think if you look back 100 years from now, we will pinpoint the beginning of failure to the vietnam era protests.
    - There was never a good war, or a bad peace.
    - Idealistically, everything should work as you planed it to. Realistically, it depends on how idealistic you are as to the measure of success.
    - Better to be a pessimist before, and an optimist afterwords.

This is democrat party politics in action.
Iran is there because Bush handpicked a Iranian sympathizer(and a terrorist) to be President who kicked us out following orders from Iran. Malachi has been running Iraq as a Shiite dictatorship and spent more time in Tehran than Bagdad. The Sunnis simply decided they could not take it any more and the radicals were given free reign.
We could not spend eternity getting soldiers legs blown off and acting as targets for terrorists. Is that what you think we should have done? Obama followed Bush's plan to tee and its failure was pre-ordained by the Bush Administration who had no idea how to handle the mess they created by ousting Saddam. Like Rummy said when washing his hands of it...."Democracy is messy" Donald Rumsfeld.
