American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq[W:1007]

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

That's an outright lie. ISIS only started in Hussein Obama's second term. Can't blame Bush for that one.

Oh goodness!

The Islamic State (IS)[4][6][50] (Arabic: الدولة الإسلامية‎ ad-Dawlah al-ʾIslāmiyyah), also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS)

The group, in its original form, was composed of and supported by a variety of Sunni insurgent groups, including its predecessor organizations, Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) (2003–2006), Mujahideen Shura Council (2006–2006) and the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) (2006–2013), other insurgent groups such as Jeish al-Taiifa al-Mansoura, Jaysh al-Fatiheen, Jund al-Sahaba and Katbiyan Ansar Al-Tawhid wal Sunnah, and a number of Iraqi tribes that profess Sunni Islam.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

I posted the story about ISIS. I suggest you read the article and then get some help reading where they came from, not who is in the organization. They fostered and grew in Syria which you have yet to admit. When exactly was ISIS created?

Islamic State of Iraq was created in 2006 during the Sunni awakening. They didn't go into Syria until 2013.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

It's a long long haul to convince really religious people to follow a government before their religious indoctrinators as they have done for millennia. Then when a religious leader sees an opening for a power-grab... they will take it like any other power-hungry leader.
Its weird being in the position to defend Muslims and their ability to grasp reality...but I disagree. I have spent 7 years in the region and yes...the majority of them ARE 'really religious' (thought not necessarily the 'vast' majority and not really REALLY religious as in so religious they lose their objectivity). Most of the Muslims I met were businessmen...first and foremost. Most of them had families. Their faith was always present, but they genuinely and honestly care about their families. I think people there (and here BTW) need to be fully awake to the threat extremism present to their family. I think if we had a better relationship and presented very clearly both a really really positive future and a really really dire future...they would be able to accept that message. I dont mean to breed religion out of them...I mean to celebrate their belief as well as a fervent defense of family and future. Some countries have done just that. UAE comes to mind...as does Kuwait.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

It proves that there was never peace in Iraq, no year that Bush was in there, not even the last year, he won no peace, and you are promoting a lie, so why don't you stop. There's something else you need to understand, Rumsfeld said when asked how long the war would be, "six days, six weeks, I doubt six months". Five years latter, Americans wanted out, that was part of Obama's reason for being elected. We don't want war in Syria, Ukraine or anywhere else.

How you can say that with what you have seen if you are paying attention, the last couple years is beyond comprehension. Iraq is a country of 25 million people. We have more people killed in Chicago in a weekend than were killed in Iraq the last few years. You continue to buy what you are told and see how far that gets you in real life into the future

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

You believe a small force in Baghdad would have stopped ISIS from entering the country?

I mentioned any of that, denied any of it? Where?

I said that the invasion went well but the organization of the initial occupation, or more apropos, lack of it , created a condition of anarchy that was extremely difficult to come back from and that Bush, having failed at it, left it to Obama.

Anothet thing you can do is respond to what you think a poster would have posted because they dared to not blame everything on Obama, rather than what they did post.

We will never know. Leadership is about taking responsibility something most liberals don't understand. Obama is responsible for losing the peace and letting ISIS slaughter thousands.

They were irrelevant in Iraq after the surge and you should know that. They filled the void that Obama left but then again Liberals never take responsibility for anything. Bush won the war and Obama in his arrogance and desire to appease people like you lost the peace.

Agreed-and perhaps even worse Obama's about to do THE EXACT SAME THING in afghanistan.

As you will note from your link, and your post, they did not go under the same ISIS during that period. Their leader, interestingly enough, was once in US custody..

Why a small force? The CIA director at the time expected 70,000 US troops to remain after SOFA expired.
I said that the invasion went well but the organization of the initial occupation, or more apropos, lack of it , created a condition of anarchy that was extremely difficult to come back from and that Bush, having failed at it, left it to Obama.
If that were true why did Joe Biden say it was the Administrations greatest achievement and why did Obama call Iraq "Stable". Your are pretending to know something.

For crying out loud, now you want to compare Iraq with Chicago! Why don't you just turn the light out and go to sleep.

Wrong, what I will note though, is that you are a Canadian that doesn't know **** about the US, and should think about what Canada is doing to improve things in Iraq, or hell, for that matter, anywhere in the world. Why don't you just be quiet.

The topic is ISIS, not the US. You were obviously wrong and now respond like spoiled little boy.

Grammar check. So, have you been harping on Harper the same way you harp on Obama?

What void...the Iraq Sunni's still sympathize and support ISIS. Apparently, they prefer ISIS to Maliki's government. The only people that can stop ISIS are the Sunni's themselves. They did it before and they can do it again. But as long as Maliki is in power, the Sunni's are likely going to continue to support ISIS. Soooo....isn't it interesting that Obama has been pushing the Shiite Iraqi's to get rid of Maliki and form a new more inclusive government if they want US help and today they did just that? Now we wait to see if the Sunni's take the bait and turn against ISIS. If they do I think it's only fair that you blame Obama. lo

Oh, my, you posted a chart showing deaths in Iraq under Bush to dispel the fact that Bush didn't win the war and the reality is you were just shown to be a typical liberal parrot and have no idea what you are talking about.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

I hope the Kurds are able to break away from the rest of the region. They are doing well to make a safe zone. You can expect an influx from Turkey and Iran to the new Kurd nation.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Obama supporters, this is your President, "I ended the war and brought all our troops home" in one breath and in another it is Bush's fault that we didn't leave any troops behind as a contingency force. It is amazing how even he cannot keep up with his lies and statements and yet people still support him.

Too many here have no concept of leadership and after watching Obama the past 6 years still don't understand leadership and never will. Obama is incompetent, he is making the world more dangerous, and transforming this country into a European socialist economy with massive dependence on the govt. thus political power constantly for liberals. Hope you are proud of your support

Actually that's the opposite of what happened. Peace was never won, and the terrorist attacks continued throughout the Bush administration, including 275 in his last year with ten thousand civilians dying that year alone! NO PEACE.

The failed war in Iraq, never brought peace and cost 200,000 civilian lives, 4,500 us lives, over a trillion dollars and has been a COMPLETE FAILURE.

Terrorist attacks are occurring all over the world, what is happening now in Iraq is genocide. You don't seem to understand the difference. The comparison between Iraq and Chicago is right on, Guess old Emanuel hasn't won the war there yet as well.

Obama has seen to that failure as did people like you who wouldn't support our troops and their mission. The war was won whether you want to accept that or not, the reality is Obama lost the peace by leaving a void in the country. Only the few Obamabots that continue to support him fail to understand that.

I'm glad you said "as well" because no war was won in Iraq, nor any peace.

No, you miss the point, there is no war in Chicago and Bush won the war in Iraq thus there was no war their either in 2008. The world was safer then than it is now. Too bad you don't understand reality
