American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq[W:1007]

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Sadly this will only help ISIS in their propaganda... the crusaders are coming.. and that will make Muslims rally behind them. It should have been the Saudis or Iranians that should have done the bombing.. or Turkey.

I think they want the US, so before they send some terrorists, let's oblige them.

ISIS: 'We Will Raise The Flag Of Allah In The White House' | The Daily Caller

The terror group President Barack Obama threatened to strike in Iraq Thursday evening is itself threatening to strike the American homeland. ISIS’s says it will conquer the United States.

“I say to America that the Islamic Caliphate has been established,” Abu Mosa, a spokesman for the terror group known as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), told VICE Media in a video interview posted online Thursday. “Don’t be cowards and attack us with drones. Instead send your soldiers, the ones we humiliated in Iraq.”

“We will humiliate them everywhere, God willing, and we will raise the flag of Allah in the White House,” he added.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

The US better be careful - I'm not exactly sure where I read it but there may be Stinger missiles in the hands of ISIS, and if they are the individual type and in working order, we may have casualties.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

U.S.

You should be thanking Bush, since he was the one that made the deal to withdraw from Iraq...

He made the deal to arbitrarily pull all American forces by 2012 ?

Bush isn't President, can't you tell ?

My point is, this is a war of hearts and minds and nothing unites Muslims as claiming that the crusaders are coming.

The problem with ISIL is that it is a blending of religious fanatics and disenfranchised tribes and former Saddam military people. In fact the main military leader is supposed to be a former top Saddam general. With the US bombing them, then they can use it as part of the propaganda machine to win over more tribes and people and keep the population in check.

Had it been a Muslim country doing the bombing, preferably from a shia country, then this propaganda element could not be exploited. Turkey would have been perfect but they dont like the Kurds and actually has an ISIL gift shop somewhere in Turkey selling t-shirts and other swag..

Basically we are in a no win situation and the people of the region are the ones who are going to suffer.

LOL talk about denying the facts.. it was not arbitrary by any means.. gezz the rewriting of history by the American right is beyond shocking.

'If, if, if' is too late to worry about. They are a problem NOW, and though air power alone won't root them out, combined with Iraqi ground troops they can start to leverage them out of power. The locals are already suffering under their backwards and brutal regime. I just put an article up in my previous post stating they want to attack and fight the US directly, if we don't organize a force to fight them now, before they get completely out of hand, it'll be a bigger regret and problem down the road.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Obama just doomed the USA to more terror attacks and spending $2 T more in more stupid wars we should not be part of.

falling for the MIC war machine lies ..............again.

We attack ISIS

They do small attack in retaliation............

This then justifies Billions for a massive attack (US MIC media machine denies that we started war with ISIS)

Then ISIS digs in for a long war...........

Then MIC has guarantied profits for 10 years in ANOTHER WAR..............

"history repeats itself, I didnt learn, I didn't listen.......................the books were on the shelf (about Iraq, Vietnam etc) (a song)

You're the one blaming Bush for something that happened in 2012.

Talk about revisionism AND hypocrisy.

Revisionism and Hypocricy started with the stains Cheney and Rumsfeld .

Here's another very possible scenario.

The US allows ISIS to grow in power and scope. They already control more land mass than Great Britain, a far cry more money and stolen US armament than Al Qaeda ever had. They march into southern Iraq taking over Baghdad and the oil fields, then onto Jordan. Iran and Saudi Arabia responds with all out war, possibly blocking the Persian Gulf. Oil markets cause a sudden rise in gas prices, while the weakened global economy causes stock markets start to tank. Eventually they hit the US on its own soil with multiple terrorists attacks. There's your next ten years or WW3.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

If a situation's dynamics change, then so do the principles of big picture policies. If America allows the ME to become much destabilized from ISIS, it could cause a multinational conflict in the area that disrupts the oil flow and resulting markets. And at worse, draw Russia into the area with more armed support leading to a US showdown.

There's nothing new with the ME dynamic that wasn't there when Obama decided exercise his campaign promise and remove all troops from Iraq. There's nothing new with the ME dynamic that wasn't there when Obama decided not to assist the student uprising in Syria before it became a quagmire of the regions worst actors.

Obama's only big-picture action was to go to Egypt, give a speech, essentially promise American support for those in the ME who wanted to fight for change, and then abandon the promise and America's role and influence in the region. Too late to put the genie back in the bottle, as the old saying goes.

What America needs, in my view, is a conference of all parties in American government and influence to determine what is in America's best interests going forward and acting in a rational, thoughtful way rather than having circumstances dictate how and to whom America dances.

I've never watched the Kardashians, you'll have to fill me in.

A joke, a bit of levity, isn't very effective if it has to be explained or if the target wants to break things down into detail.

Sorry I disturbed you - have a fun day.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

And now we're back in there with ground troops and war planes, why because Iraq wants us back??

Yes that's pretty much it.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

No, the terrorist wouldn't be in Iraq if not for the politicized move to pull all US troops.

Thank you Obama

So did it bother you when Bush actually planned the pull out?

Good. Maybe we can get all the hornets to come to the nest to be eradicated.

Goes with the territory and I'm sure our military planners are aware of it.

Well let's hope they unite in compact groups.

A few Daisy Cutters will keep the population in check.

No problem, you didn't disturb me.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

So did it bother you when Bush actually planned the pull out?

Because, as we all know, Obama is powerless to go against a Bush plan...

The issue with the pullout is that Obama didn't seek a SOFA in order to keep troops in place in Iraq for the foreseeable future to keep these kinds of campaigns from happening.

A good deal of the blame lies with the idiotic Iraqi government who wanted to throw out America so it could look butch, and part of the blame lies with Obama for not pressing the issue.

Obama could likely get that SOFA signed now, but he won't do it.

The people of Iraq are saddled with two countries worth of inept politicians in charge.

Re: American Forces Said to Bomb ISIS Targets in Iraq

Bush didn't plan the pull out. That was an Obama campaign promise, remember? What Bush did was sign an agreement to leave forces in Iraq, well into Obama's term of office, but leave it up to Obama to determine if and under what terms the troops would remain. Did you think Bush could sign an agreement that bound both America and Iraq to troops in Iraq forever and ever?

Nothing new, are you cereal? That situation over there has been changing faster than quicksilver.

What America needs are American opinions, because if we don't intervene and stop this now, it will come back to haunt us.
