After seeing Obama and the Pentagon go around and around for months, Maliki eventually said, "**** it, I'll go with Iran." And that's what he did.

Since I don't know the answers to those questions, I have come to the conclusion that the US is going to be blamed either way. Acting alone makes us look like aggressors by one side or the other, even though this is supposedly a humanitarian effort. So are we going to continue to help the people trapped in the mountains, or is this it? They're going to be hungry and thirsty next week too, if we don't get them out of harm's way. If we don't act, we are somehow shirking our duty, but our allies apparently don't agree with us. Maybe if we didn't have the reputation for being "policeman to the world," things would be different, but they sure don't have a problem expecting our help when they need it.

And lastly, our being invaded by thousands upon thousands of illegal children and adults, and being forced to feed, clothe, and house them was also called a "humanitarian crisis." Those words seem to be coming up a lot lately in the news.

61 years but I don't think we are still there to protect South Korea. They can protect themselves. i think we feel comfortable being right close to a serious enemy where we can deal with them quickly. It is no different than the Russian inolvement with Cuba and Venezuela.

We are also still in Germany 68 years after that war. Are we protecting Europe from Germany? Obviously not. We are just closer to Western Russia than we would be at home.

Do you mean that 'peace' existed prior to Bush attacking and ousting Saddam Hussein?

I’ve been impressed, how they have been deciding to use the political process, rather than guns, to settle their differences.”

Apparently what he REALLY meant is that George Bush brought all that about. Cuz...we KNOW the current liberal rhetoric is "Its not Obamas fault!!!"

At this point, I don't think that will be necessary. What they are doing now is much like what they initially did with the Taliban in Afghanistan. A small number of special forces painting targets for the jets to precision bomb. The ISIS fighters are rag tag and have only had succsess due to virtually no organized opposition. If they do not limit the air strikes to protecting religious minorities, I think they can turn it around without sending in massive ground troops again.

folks wanna fight?.. let em fight.
not our circus, not our monkeys.

if ISIS ever comes a callin'... destroy them with extreme malice.... but as long as they are dancing in thier own backyard, **** em'.. let em' dance.
Umm, they are not dancing. They are beheading children, mass execution of men women and children. Murdering parents and raping their baby girls. You are fine with this thrilla?

they would not attack USA, because they have limited goals on the other side of the planet, and we WOULD NOT ATTACK them.

Electric cars and MPG are far from solving the petrol reliance.

At $10's a gallon, bet you the average American would care. Has nothing to do with smarts but more to do with income.

All gas comes from a global oil aggregate, and we don't produce enough spare capacity to export.

They already put out a statement claiming they want to put their flag on the White House, and we've already bombed them twice.

Because it's up to the Iraqi government to protect and defend their assets. We held their hands and trained their troops for over ten years. Al-Miliki needs to get his **** together and stop favoring the Sh**tes or move over and be replaced with someone that will. The American people don't have the stomach for another war in Iraq.
