Russia grants Edward Snowden residency for 3 more years

'MOSCOW — Russia has granted fugitive National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden permission to remain in the country for three more years, Snowden’s attorney said Thursday, a measure that promised to further strain U.S.-Russian relations.'

Good...the hero is 'safe' for three more years.

No reason for Russia not to do so, especially given the present situation.

    Hardly a surprising move.

And I say 'hero' for two reasons.

    1) because he is a hero

and 2) because it seems to piss off a lot of people.

yea this is just a slap in obama's face right here. ol you want this guy? yea we have him and well your not getting him back any time soon have a nice day.

he turned the whole thing on it's head that is for sure.

I saw that. But had you expected them to turn over a traitor in the present situation? That would have been a surprise.

He isn't universally considered a traitor.
Killing one person is murder, killing 100,000 is foreign policy

No. There are people that don't understand that just because they like the damage done it wasn't criminal. As i remember, you have that problem.

We have a difference in opinion on the nature of the damage. You prove that he has done damage to our national security, and I'll prove to you that his only damage has been to US government credibility and global standing, causing huge embarrassment. Some dressing down at the UN. on the positive, more Americans now understand what many have known for a long time, including federal judges and constitutional lawyers, I'm only disappointed that you can't recognize extra constitutional behavior when you see it and can only hope that you are in a minority on that, if our constitution has chance of survival. Funny how you guys claim Obama has been violating the constitution left and right, and then when a guy like Snowden confirms it, of both Obama and Bush, you call him a traitor. Not good for liberty joG!

I can hardly believe you understand international affairs so little that you don't know that the things you mention above harm the population. Alone the higher costs of doing business should wake you up. I assume you just don't want to understand how bad his actions have harmed the US position in security and in trade.
But if you really don't see it, it would take at least a semester of learning to get an overview. And i am not willing to put a fruitless effort into it.

As to the domestic side, it could concievably been fine to blow the whistle and much easier to forgive the crime. As it is, however, he is a traitor of the worst type.

Do you contend that the right to keep and to bare arms is intended to allow us to defend ourselves from the tyranny of government?
