GOP blocks bill that would curb tax breaks for firms moving operations overseas

How is it unfounded? When have the republicans ever tried to crack down on outsourcing?
You said your self that it was an assumption, and the only reason you gave for that assumption was a hyperbolic accusation, for which you offered no evidence.

So the republicans don't favor outsourcing and tax breaks for every business?

I think that they like to block almost everything...

LOL, isn't that how a democracy works? Democrats of course never used those tactics in the 40 years they controlled the House. tell me why it has to be Obama's way or the highway? Absolutely Amazing, Republicans are blocking everything but Harry Reid with all those House Passed bills in his desk isn't? Make sense to anyone?

Read it....seems rather straight-forward to me. US companies which have established business operations overseas establish their business back in the U.S. In so doing, they receive tax credits for everything from licensing and permit fees, equipment installation cost, and other similar expenses as authorized by the TreaSec. (Sec 2, [Sec 45S(b)(2), as amended]) Perhaps the GOP doesn't think those credits apply deeply enough to other business-related expenses. Maybe construction cost should be added. Of course, why would they when all the corporation's Board of Directors would have to do is approve a commercial bond issuance to raise such capital.

On the other side, you have Sec 3 of the bill, "Denial of Deductions for Outsourcing Expenses," which essentially says "you don't get a tax break for any expenses incurred for having outsourced your company in the first place. You already go that tax break under the "outsourcing" tax break the fed gave you years ago". Maybe that's a bigger bone of contention from the GOP in an effort to placate Corporate America. Who knows...just have to stay tuned to C-SPAN for the latest and greatest Senate floor scuffles and hear what they're really saying.

That's not how I read Sec 3. It says "you no longer get to deduct expenses relating to outsourcing that you were previously allowed" Insourcing expenses are still deductible and earn a 20% tax credit even if they're a return to the US of jobs that were previously outsourced

Also, there's no evidence that the GOP objects to Sec 3. So far, it appears that their objection is that the bill doesn't lower the corporate income tax rate.

We're saying the same thing, just differently. As for you theory concerning lowering the corporate tax rate, you could be right on that point. But like I said, we'll just have to watch C-SPAN.org and find out what their objections are.

"favor outsourcing"? Maybe they don't fight against it very much but it's not as if they're trying to make businesses leave. OTOH, the Dems favor high corporate tax rates which push businesses away.

And many republicans favor outsourcing which allows a company to ship production overseas so that they can hire workers practically pennies on the dollar working 80 hour work weeks and ship those goods to the US with no or low tariffs.

"Many republicans favor outsourcing". That's a good example of "just saying stuff".

This an example of people believing that your opinions are indeed actual facts. Just like Republicans are going to starve kids, kill seniors, and pollute the air. Cannot believe that actual Americans believe this bs.

And Bill Clinton signed it. I totally understand why people like you aren't for free trade and capitalism. You simply cannot compete.
Both parties are beholden to the moneyed interests that fund their campaigns

Honest people can recognize and admit it. Hacks can not

Honest people understand the role of the Federal Govt. in a free enterprise capitalistic economy. The answer is term limits, the states understand it, Pelosi, Reid, and people like you don't. The richest people in the Congress are Democrats, wonder where they got their money?

Which explains why so many right wingers do not understand the role of the federal govt in regulating commerce.

Apparently a 3.9 trillion dollar govt. to do that isn't big enough for you, nor is the 17.6 trillion dollar debt and rising debt service. We have laws to regulate commerce. You don't need a massive central govt. to do that, just enforce existing laws.

And the Republican side is what, exactly?

Allow people and businesses keep more of what they earn thus they won't have to move anywhere. TX has learned to do that, why can't Washington? S?ince when is it the role of the govt. to create equal outcome

Allow people and businesses keep more of what they earn thus they won't have to move anywhere.

IS that why they voted against this bill which allows businesses that insource keep more of what they earn by granting a 100% deduction plus a 20% credit?

The total bill is the issue not just the part you want to address. You read the headlines and not the story. Is there a reason that you want the Federal Govt. to take more of the revenue from the private sector? Why won't you support a reduction in the corporate tax rates?

The total bill reduces corporate taxes. The GOP voted against so they must want the feds to take more money from the private sector and they oppose reductions in corporate tax rates

That is your opinion but like with most of your opinions, wrong

The bill would have prevented companies from deducting expenses related to moving their operations to a foreign country.

How does that bill lower corporate costs?

Better learn what taxes business pay, Federal, State, and Local. Businesses are in business to make money, a concept you have a problem understanding.

Not an opinion. It is a fact that the bill reduces corporate taxes and a fact that the GOP voted against it

Post the contents of the bill and not selected sentences. If you want to reduce corporate taxes then support a bill to reduce them, not one just for companies going overseas.
