A Republican congressional candidate fled her interview with a major election-forecasting group after being asked why she believed that global warming was a hoax and whether President Barack Obama was born in the United States, according to a new report in the Washington Post.

This lady was obviously not well prepared for this interview.

Kind of reminds me of Sarah Palin.

Any thoughts?

Maybe Journalists shouldn't be mocking people/potential candidates and start asking serious questions.....

I would have probably walked out too, not before saying; "It doesn't matter where he was born considering his mother was a US citizen."

All to frequently these progressive Journalists love to do noting but mock the non-democrat/progressive candidates in an intimidating manner, while when they interview progressives they give them nothing but "fluff questions" with a laughingly content smile.

It's the liberals!

Update (10:10 a.m.): In a Facebook post last week, after the interview was conducted, Whitney slammed the Cook Political Report. "It was obvious, from the onset of the interview, that Wasserman had planned to jump me simply because I am a Conservative Woman and liberal shills like Dave Wasserman want to destroy us," she wrote.

Even if that is true :)lol:) the best thing to counter someone who is trying to jump and destroy you is to give an answer that sounds smart, if not entirely true, then turn it around so they look foolish. I see it here daily. ;)

When the going gets tough, conservatives get to playing the victim. It is never their fault, it is the fault of the evil liberal media, that they know is liberal because it does not spin everything in the conservative way. Damn liberal media asking a political candidate political questions during an interview...HOW UNFAIR!

This is what you get with the tea party, very stupid people who get their news from community college dropouts like Limbaugh, and Hannity.

DERP

What's wrong with progress? Anyway, you don't know what the journalists personal politics are. You think that journalists are afraid of asking potentially embarrassing questions to someone who's politics they may personally agree with? Which journalists get your approval as objective?

She made you tube videos talking about where Obama was born, and climate denial. That makes it fair game.

Does Dan Rostenkowski remind you of Sarah, too?

God!!! I wish I could find a Youtube video of him being asked a question by Chicago reporters and vaulting over the hood of a nearby car only to continue running down the street.

Yep, and some of them who don't know their backside from a hole in the ground are trying to get elected.

That's too funny! Oh wait a minute, no its not if they succeed.

Actually Wasserman made himself look foolish when he exposed himself as a global warming nutter.

How hard is it to answer a question about where the President of the USA was born?

Give us a frickin' break here.

where Obama was born is a "political" question?

what school of journalism did you attend?

how about...."what are we going to do about all the kids at the border?" that's a political question, and one that most voters would like an answer to

trying to suck someone into the birther issue is just stupid...unless that person had made comments regarding that issue previously

I hate seeing hack threads in breaking news. Maybe this candidate was offended that she would be asked about the President's birthplace.

It's on par with, "Have you stopped beating your wife."

Sarah Palin reminds me of Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin reminds me of Sarah Palin.

Exactly, there is only one Sarah Palin and I can't think of anyone else that even comes close. Although Lucile Ball in I Love Lucy might, but Lucy may be more of the Bachman type. So which is which, Ethel and Lucy, Palin and Bachman?

She walked on a "gotcha" interview? Smart move.

Again, this is not a question out of the blue, she made public statements regarding Obama's birthplace. Fair game.

If she is that much of a conspiracy theorist nutter, as a voter, I'd like to know.

Sorry, but if she is going to comment on those things public in various ways, they are fair game to ask questions on.

Wasserman said he attempted to "change the subject" and ask whether she believed Obama was born in the United States. Her aides then ended the interview.

"When she replied that it was a matter of some controversy, her two campaign consultants quickly whisked her out of the room, accusing me of conducting a 'Palin-style interview,'"
palin-style interview with a palin-style candidate
someone who still questions Obama's birth place
someone who denies global warming and is unable to cite any basis for her refusal to believe it

She walked on a "gotcha" interview? Smart move.

Guess she shouldn't have commented on those things beforehand in public eh? Ooops it's all a liberal conspiracy. Liberals aren't supposed to ask questions about whacky comments politicians make.

The US Senate candidate from Kentucky yesterday stated that Iron Dome protects Israel from terrorists in tunnels. I'm pretty sure every election cycle we are going to see & hear what used to be called gaffes. I believe the new word is "speak-o".

Oh the CON victim card game.... only problem with this theory, like many other CON theories, is it doesn't follow the facts but makes them up to suit.

It appears the CON candidate made a statement the interviewer asked her to expand on... why does she believe global warming is a hoax... seems a serious question. She couldn't answer.

It went south after that... :peace

She is in a tough spot, because she doesn't believe all that crap, like many Republicans. But if she comes out and says it's crap, the Teabaggers are going to create hell for her, and if she accepts the conspiracy theories, then she will look like an extremist, and the Democrats will have a field day with her. She was right in fleeing the interview because it looks like she was being set up.
