This is not surprising. Half of the voters in this country are dumber than the other half.

But their vote counts just as much.

I do not like Obama and in this we agree. My pragmatic side says there are just too many other, infinitely more important, issues screaming for attention.

You must live in a alternate universe because the USA I live in saw the Dems do basically nothing with their big numbers and solid control of Congress. Just go and talk to progressives and they will tell you it was an opportunity squandered.

You have to keep in mind that whether or not the republicans take control of the Senate in the coming midterms, the majority of republicans in office will still be RINOS (republicans in name only). It is laughable to suggest that the republicans will end up with radical right wing majorities.
The rectum may be a small part of the body but that opening can dictate much of what the rest of the body does it is flares up in pain or is not functioning properly. Such will be the case for the GOP with its rectum dominating all other parts.

Though I do appreciate that so many radical leftwingers now seem to be conceding that the coming midterms will be a disaster for the democrat party and are now just thinking about 2016.
It is too early to tell who will win the Senate. But if the GOP does, and they go bat guano crazy with libertarian and rightie legislation and investigations and even impeachment - they simply make it very likely for a 2016 banner year for Democrats.

I'd ask for a cite, but I know it's impossible, so I'll just note that your memory apparently doesn't exist prior to 2009.

I agree; it's the independents upon whom attention should focus.

Especially since the number who profess to be independents has shot up to 46% of the electorate while the two parties strengths has been in decline. In 2005 67% of the electorate identified with the two major parties while 30% said they are independents. Today only 52% now associate themselves with the two parties while 46% claim to be independents. That 15 point decline is the biggest for any ten year period going back to 1930. In fact from 1930-60 80% of the electorate identified themselves with the two parties. Their strength fell to 70% from 1960 to 1990 then in the 60's percent range until 2010. It has been in the 50's since then and I would be surprise to see the two party strength fall to below 50% in the next couple of years.

Americans as a whole are just plain becoming disgusted with the two major parties and that disgust is growing fast.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

I dont think this is a question of whether or not it is timeworthy but rather whether or not it is worthy period.

People voted for the man. Most dont like what he is doing or how he is doing it (61% as of latest polling). But if congress doesnt like what he is doing as the leader of the executive branch, congress has the right to and SHOULD take their concerns to the judiciary. That is their purpose in our system of checks and balances.

A better solution would just be to have the entire government resign as of the 2014 elections and start over. Congress cant exactly lean on their own stellar record of achievement and community support. House...senate...GOP and Democrat...probably not 50 real positive and effective representatives of the people in the entire mix.
