Lol? LOL! That has to be the funnies defense of Obama ever made. Hands down.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

Amazing to me how people view things. I have always thought of Bush as being to the left of Clinton. But I'm not a partisan so I my view doesn't get so clouded by politics.

What is hilarious is that my post contains no defense of Obama.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Big deal - I am quite sure about 1/3 wanted to impeach him the day he took office.

When it's past 50%, then I will care about it.

This------------------^. That's the truth. It always seems to me like 1/3 is hard left, 1/3 is hard right, and 1/3 waffles around in the middle.

Well, are tax-cuts a conservative policy? Of course they are and Bush forced the biggest tax-cut in decades, perhaps ever. But what did those tax-cuts do? They transformed a $230 billion surplus he inherited from the "liberal" Bill Clinton into a $440 billion deficit in three years -- by far the worst fiscal record in American history.

The disconnect isn't that Bush wasn't a conservative, it's that when in power, conservatives want to use the power of government their way. Thus, instead of championing personal freedom, he used government to be intrusive in the name of anti-terrorism. He asserted that we were fighting for freedom in Iraq but labeled anyone who questions his course of action, aiding the terrorists and not patriotic.

When the GOP was in charge of all three law-making bodies, they engaged in the highest amount of earmark and pork barrel projects in history.

What I am saying is that modern conservatives talk-the-talk but when in power they don't walk-the-walk.

Yeah, Bush was a conservative, that's a good one. I guess Clinton and Obama are too, LOL!
Let's get down to real numbers...
National Debt has increased more under Obama than under Bush - CBS News
I mean, is this really in dispute? The man's spending is out of control, completely reckless. Bush is lucky to have him, otherwise he would be the worst.

It isn't necessary to tell me that both parties do the same things when in power despite what they preach. I already understand that. The disconnect between rhetoric and action is vast for both parties. Bush spent like a drunken sailor. That isn't conservative, at least it isn't part of conservative rhetoric. I thought Clinton was was actually a conservative in Democrat attire. He talked the liberal talk but did things in a more conservative manner than Bush. Bush was the opposite. He talked the conservative talk but did the conservative things.

The problem with partisanship is that it really isn't based on ideology. It is based on a hunger for political power. Partisans often confuse rhetoric with actions. Both parties want political power. They say what they think will get it for them and then they do what they think will maintain it regardless of how liberal or conservative the actions are in ideological terms. That is why we get bigger, more expensive, more intrusive government regardless of which political party is in charge.

Tax cuts don't cause deficits, over spending causes deficits.

Conservatives were not in power, it was GOP establishment, go along to get along Republicans.

It's absurd to say that tax-cuts don't cause deficits. If not, then let's cut taxes to zero and see if no deficit appears. In Kansas, they thought as you and the radical conservatives radically cut taxes. What happened? State revenue dropped by 1/3.

The crop of Republicans that have been in power over the last 20 years have been the most conservative in history. How conservative enough do they need to be show their colors, go back to burning witches?
