Didn't forget the couch at all. Iraq rejected all forces when it came time to negotiate the number. And likely knew he would when he signed originally during the Bush administration. Got to get what you need incrementally. But then AGAIN, all this is moot had Bush not taken the so called "war on terror" to a country uninvolved in 9/11.

If you don't already know, you'll never know.

I don't have time to waste on you, educate yourself.

Nope. Not true. After flip-flopping all over the place over his time in office regarding a SOF deal Obama bailed on negotiations.
And it's not moot had Iraq remained stable ... asshole like Maliki notwithstanding.

I was asking if you knew ... or would at least acknowledge it.
Apparently not, which I have to say I'm surprised.
I thought you were one of the more reasonable folks here.

There are so many legitimate criticisms of Obama that its remarkable you would blame a Bush COLOSSAL failure on him and lather your face in egg so.

Barack Obama announced at a White House press conference that all American troops will leave Iraq by the end of December, a decision forced by the final collapse of lengthy talks between the US and the Iraqi government on the issue.

I'm reasonable enough to know that anyone who's trying to re-write history isn't worth wasting time on.

Ignoring history out of blind Obama loyalty works that way too.

Re: US and Islamic State: ‘We did see this coming’

But ending the U.S. troop presence in Iraq was an overwhelmingly popular demand among Iraqis, and Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki appears to have been unwilling to take the political risk of extending it. While he was inclined to see a small number of American soldiers stay behind to continue mentoring Iraqi forces, the likes of Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, on whose support Maliki’s ruling coalition depends, were having none of it. Even the Obama Administration’s plan to keep some 3,000 trainers behind failed because the Iraqis were unwilling to grant them the legal immunity from local prosecution that is common to SOF agreements in most countries where U.S. forces are based.

Nope ... Obama said not leaving 10K troops there would be an enormous mistake. Then in the blink of an eye he swore they'd all be gone. Not because he couldn't get an agreement but because it was politically pleasing to his base. I guess he wasn't serious about that enormous mistake comment. Circumstances hadn't changed that much to remove that enormity.

I think now would be a good time to remind anyone reading these things that Obama is a world class liar.
The most clever type of liar who is always aware of the audience and will say what they want to hear ... but ... will always include some language ... a word ... a phrase ... a reference that will provide him an out in front of a different audience.

So ... for a POTUS debate crowd he pulls out the 10K troops line to sound Presidential and contemplative.
In front of his media he reverses himself without dropping a stitch.
