U.S. Considering Refugee Status for Hondurans

Hoping to stem the recent surge of migrants at the Southwest border, the Obama administration is considering whether to allow hundreds of minors and young adults from Honduras into the United States without making the dangerous trek through Mexico, according to a draft of the proposal.

A bus ride from their home to the consulate and an American tax payer paid trip to America with citizenship and all the fixins..

If the US does that, it should be very informative about it, so that populations around the World know that the US is out there doing human rights things others refuse to do.

    .

    I'm not.

International laws dictate how refugees must be treated.

Are you suggesting that the USA ignore those laws?

You didn't read the article did you?

It isn't about having kids dumped at our door, it's about us going to their door and asking if they want to take a trip.

For those dumped at our door, feed 'em, give 'em a physical, put 'em in a new sweat suit and ship them where they're from. 1 month turn around at the most. Other than that, the cupboard's bare, the tank is empty, and the wallet is tapioca'd...

Is picking them up not preferable to having one in three die in transport?

Could you provide a link to some of these laws that define a refugee? I'm pretty sure that if they are in their own country that they are not refugees.

I could, but I'm going to do you a favor and let you do your own research.

I don't believe that you could. You prefer to just make snarky references to International Laws without any understanding and asking why the US wouldn't want to follow international law.

Here you go. Refugee - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

If they are still in their home country, then they are NOT refugees.
