Obama family set to buy $4.25M desert home: Report

Re: Obama family set to buy $4.25M desert home: Whatta Great Country, eh?

wow just wow..........this is now what we will see>?

Re: Obama family set to buy $4.25M desert home: Whatta Great Country, eh?

Well hopefully he has enough acreage to house his new guests. And water. And food. And septic facilities. And healthcare. And lawyers. And Wifi. And all the other things we, as a nation, were expected to provide free of charge to his new found friends.

You must have heard about the Obama administration attempt of purchasing a five star hotel resort in Texas to house Obama's illegal alien children and gang members with $50 million taxpayers dollars.

Each room has wide screen HD Tv, wi-fi internet access. The hotel has two swimming pools, one being an olympic size pool. Tennis courts, fitness center and a five star restaurant serving El Supremo Gringo Burritos and every morning an Obama Continental Breakfast of Gringo Breakfast Burritos.

Re: Obama family set to buy $4.25M desert home: Whatta Great Country, eh?

That's exactly what I was thinking.

The Mojave blooms once a year and is extraordinary to drive through. I would even suggest a road trip just to see it. After that? Leave.

A rich guy wants to buy a slick house in the desert. Why is that news and why does anybody care?

I think it's to imply that Obama is a hypocrite for being rich.

Not that the story's true anyway.

Being rich isn't the problem. It never was.

Re: Obama family set to buy $4.25M desert home: Whatta Great Country, eh?

The only point I get out of this is, Obama is not in touch with the middle class like his supporters like to believe he is. He is every bit the wealthy, elitist, out of touch politician that his supporters claim the republicans are.

You want him to buy a semi detached house in Chicago? I'm sure that wouldn't be a logistical nightmare for the secret service.

So now that you know the story is false, have you changed your mind about him?

Re: Obama family set to buy $4.25M desert home: Whatta Great Country, eh?

Oh the horror.A rich politician buying a mufti-million dollar house, say it ain't so.

Here's the deal. When Obama was running for office, he said "I am one of you". No, he isn't. He went to Harvard, and is one of them. I was hard on Bush when he was in office, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that some of the stuff he is doing are things that Bush would not have thought of, even in his wildest wet dreams. Obama's master is not the people, but the corporations that bought him.

Where did I say that? Are you suggesting that every house that isn't a $4 million house is a semi-detached house in Chicago?

I think that the (obviously false) article plays well with people who forage the internet for these sorts of stories to confirm that belief.

Re: Obama family set to buy $4.25M desert home: Whatta Great Country, eh?

Bush bought a multimillion dollar ranch, just to emphasise he was a rugged Texacan, before he ran for the presidency.

He hasn't always been wealthy, Bush was born that way and hasn't a clue.

Well now, he was already a Texas governor. And it was BEFORE, not during.

Good for them. I mean, the family does need a place to live after the President's term ends. And the home will need accommodations for others. What's the problem if they have the money to spend?

I would have thought he would return to Chicago and resume his community organizing career.:lamo

Wow! You and Dave Fagan on the same page, I love it.

I'm pretty sure I used the word "before"!

So was Bill Clinton. He didn't have much national recognition though either.

You did, just highlighting that. My issue is with the active POTUS making large purchases that require lenders like this.

Got it, but I don't think his dad could just write a check from the family trust fund.

Yes, but let's face facts here. NO politician is "like-us" generally. None, so if people bought into that they are quite foolish.

Not that the story's true anyway.

I've explained why this sort of purchase by an active POTUS may be a concern. And I think every POTUS previously has avoided doing so if only for the perception. But in any event, Obama wouldn't be a hypocrite for becoming rich, but rather for what he does with the wealth.

Do we know yet if the story is true?
