Re: Germany expels CIA official in US spy row

Many US officials have been all over the news declaring that the expulsion of the CIA chief in Germany is UNPRECIDENTED! There is more to this story than we all know about, and pretending that this was generic espionage and Merkel popped off a little to save face is just cover.

If she believes that, she is as dangerous as I thought.

PS: Thank you for explaining the Stasi to me and reminding me of he CV.

That wasn't the purpose of the post dude! In a phone call with Obama, Merkel expressed her anger. Which makes no sense if it was just for public consumption.

In what way does it make "no sense"?

The public face would feign anger, the private face would acknowledge only that the Obama administration failed by letting the cat out of the bag.

Errr...No, that's not how it works.
The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of Conservatives is to prevent mistakes from being corrected.

The German chancellor also told the US president that America's National Security Agency cannot be trusted because of the volume of material it had allowed to leak to the whistleblower Edward Snowden, according to the New York Times.

Germany is its own country. The US needs to stop fighting an intelligence war with Russia already in other peoples countries. It's rude and a waste of money anyways.
