Protesters block buses carrying undocumented immigrants in California

I never said they did. But Mexicans are coming here to work. These central American people are sending children in diapers who are unaccompanied. They in no way are here to work.

Your ok with the Mexicans that are crossing the border illegally to work. Btw, some of them are just coming here to take advantage of our more than generous social entitlements program that has persisted thought the last several decades. The fourteenth amendment has been abused with the birth right clause that wasn't intended for children who's parents slipped into the country illegally!

Really, and when our soldiers start getting sick like Border Patrol has. Of course, this weakens national security. Military bases are not babysitting instillations.

I agree with you that MB's aren't day care centres. I don't know what you expect Obama to do otherwise though. I promise you no republican president would be turning back children at the border right now and risk being accussed by the left and criticised by the UN of endangering children when they didn't find there way back home safely. This is a problem, HUGE that requires everybody to work together, quickly, for a solution. We haven't the time for partisan finger pointing and bickering.

Wtf, think you're the grammar teacher, shall we all spend our time critiquing each others spelling, think yours is perfect. Stop wasting time, children are slipping across the border!!

Your inability to use the English language properly makes you look ignorant and presents any 'opinion' you might have as ignorant as well.

If just physical presence was the criteria and intention of it, then every tourist that ever had a baby while on holiday in the US, would have children with US citizenship. As would foreign diplomats on assignment here who's wives had babies while here, foreign business execs on extended stays on business who delivered babies while here. Nobody thinks they are US citizens.

That's a lovely distraction that proves your opinion hasn't any merit. Can't deal with the fact that your partisan finger pointing isn't having any effect on the border problem we are faced with now.

They all have to have an immigration hearing first. The immigration courts are already backlogged. It will take years. In the meantime enough unaccompanied children are coming in to fill up an entire mid sized city. There is no plan B. There isn't even a ****ing plan A.

The hearing applies only if the person is allowed to set foot on US soil. Stop them at the border and there is no issue.

But your right. There is no plan B. I do believe there is a plan A. I think that none of this invasion is an accident.

No republican president ever had a plan to deal with 75,000 children crossing our border every year, either! Hopefully, the leadership in Washington will work together to address this very serious problem, immediately, and not continue to engage in partisan politics and finger pointing as can be seen right here on this board.

No Republican President can do a thing about this problem. This is Barry's deal. He has already stated he is going to go it alone. No need to let partisan politics in Congress get in the way.

Don't worry. This is the only part of her posting that makes any sense. I'm going to watch her grammar and spelling closely the next little while. Let's see how well she does.

Physical presence IS the criteria. That is why people call them 'anchor babies' even though they don't anchor the parents. Diplomats would do the same as American service people do when children are born overseas, they go through the Consulate to get American citizenship. Foreign diplomats would do that in their country. But the children, unless they themselves at some point, renounce their American citizenship are American citizens.

Knock yourself out.

The 1868 ratification of the 14th amendment was to protect African American babies, read its context. The "anchor baby" (or "jackpot baby") didn't come about until a century latter with the ridiculous 1965 Immigration Act.

Congress won't do crap, it's a problem, so somebody has to do something about it.

The phrase "undocumented immigrants" is so PC and so inaccurate.

It would be more accurate to use term such as illegal aliens, illegals, or undocumented Democrats.

`
I'd just as soon spend that kind of money on education

but 39 million is wasted on so many things, heck one bridge to nowehere can easily cost that.

Just another way to say that congress should just rubber stamp what liberals want...That's a new one....Not.

Huh ?

This influx of diseased illegals is happening for a reason.

Or do you believe this is just a coincidence ?

why do we NEED low-skill immigrants?
it is my understanding the USA has LOTS of low-skill citizens
Mainly because they strengthen the economy. Keeping them out is protectionism and it makes us poorer than we otherwise would be. Because wealth is not fixed, and more can always be created, so too are jobs. And if you have more people doing more things than could otherwise be done just with the native population, you by definition have more wealth, and by effect, more jobs. Our current laws block entry to low skilled immigrants, and high skilled immigrants if there are no more visas. The only chance for the former to get in legally, is to have someone in the U.S. who is naturalized or a born citizen that' they're either married to, or otherwise related. Most immigrants don't have such connections, thus, they could follow the legal process, and we would never let them in. Because this is the case, they are incentivized to simply shirk the law to come here anyway. And I for one can't blame them for that, the law shirked them first.

Of course it's not coincidental. Decades of porous borders and lax immigration policy through multiple administrations has welcomed the illegal entry of immigrants. Neither party has ever taken this bull by the horns, nor will they. Why its so difficult to understand is strange, but big business benefits by open borders, and both parties pander to big business. This isn't going to change.

in an economy where we need more workers it does make sense to expand the numbers of legal immigrants who are allowed to immigrate
but that is not our present circumstance. we have an over-abundance of under-skilled citizens. they need work. but their opportunities for employment are diminished by each illegal alien who is holding a job
we deprive our own citizens an opportunity for work by allowing illegals to remain employed
now, for business owners who are looking to maximize profitability, i can appreciate that the availability of low wage workers helps them meet those profitability goals. but it does so to the diminishment of our own citizens. and that is very wrong

I think there has been a change in how many legal citizens view the current situation, along with the policies that have been put in place by the Obama Administration. Republican voters seem to have made it very clear they are not interested in being taken for a ride again by the lies of the Immigration Activists, and have let their representatives know.

Immigration Reform that includes amnesty is a third rail issue that a majority of registered Republicans seem willing to risk all to stop. It's a bit disingenuous to equate current policy coming from the Obama Administration to immigration efforts by previous administrations.

I don't agree with that ocean. Border policy during the Clinton administration may have been better than the Bush administration policies, but injurious to American workers just the same. You are mistaken if you think ANY president is going to secure our borders. That's not in the interests of big business. But blaming it all on Obama feels good I know.

Perhaps you missed the fact that I did not blame all of the immigration problems on President Obama. What I did do is offer that the policies he has adopted and that he has directed through EO's has taken the problem to a new level.

When Sen. Pelosi is on the border welcoming the invaders with open arms, and the President is adopting unilateral "Dream Act" type responses to illegal invaders already here, one has to be willfully running away from the truth in order to view this as being on par with other administrations.
