But please, have fun blaming Obama while giving those that hire a free pass, because that is EXACTLY what you are doing when you don't focus on those that hire them in the first place.

Have you read the 1996 Illegal Immigration Act Clinton signed into law?

U.S. Immigration Legislation: 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act

The Obama Administration, along with leaders in labor, and in the Democratic Party, have been encouraging illegal aliens to come here. They have been pushing to reward them for their effort, and enrich them at taxpayer expense. Yet you point to the GOP for not pushing for heavy fines, etc.? Again, read the legislation on the books.

You can swim in a river in Egypt as long as you want, but the facts are undeniable.

My memory is a little fuzzy can you help me remember who provided the last largest amnesy ever, the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act, which gave amnesty to roughly 2.8 million illegal aliens? I've done enough research this morning and feeling kind of lazy now but maybe you can help me now.
I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it.

Apparently, your confusing fuzziness with snark.

I would think, having learned that Reagans efforts were met with even greater levels of illegal immigration, the "amnesty" approach would be rejected out of hand. Since it clearly is not being rejected, the conclusion can only be that more illegal immigration is being sought, which evidence is proving true.

How the most vulnerable legal citizens are going to be protected from the economic harm of people the left is encouraging to come here is still a bit of a mystery.

Right. It's not like we have millions living on welfare who might actually someday work for a living.

Immigrants don't just "take jobs", they create them. We know why illegal immigration has spiraled out of control, and it has nothing to do with the border, and everything to do with our laws. Because under Eisenhower, this wasn't a problem, and only started to become a problem once we tore down his program. Follow the history.

Illegal aliens take jobs. That is an undeniable fact. Farm labor programs are a far stretch from the invasion that is taking place today.

Willfully taking in peasants from failed countries will only spread their cultural failure here, at the expense of those who will be harmed by this liberal policy.

If an immigrant, no matter where they're from, is the one the business wants to hire, than they're the one that should be hired. The American Government is not a Union, and shouldn't act as one.
Once upon a time, these people wouldn't have been illegals, they would have been fed directly into the legal program, they would have stayed, or returned seasonally based on their own plans, generate some business as they worked here, and that would have been that. The Economic order goes on as it should.
Today, we have an economically disruptive system, one that categorically disallows people from coming here, not because they are violent, not because they are terrorists, not because they're ne'er do wells or seek welfare, but simply because they're low-skilled, and aren't from here.
If you are low skilled, and have no relatives living in the United States, you have no chance of coming here. There is no line for you, and you will simply be turned away.
Most immigrants fall into this category, so either they become illegals, or they don't come. That's the choice we've put in front of them.
Additionally, for High Skilled immigrants there is a shallow pool. 85,000 H1-B visas, 225,000 applicants a year. They go virtually within the first day. To assign them, the visas are put into a lottery.
That is our Government, turning away the next Elon Musk, the next Sergey Brin, the next Ajay Bhatt-led, simply because we didn't make enough visas to meet the demand. We are turning away growth & opportunity, and allowing ourselves to be technologically out-paced, because of a short-sighted, disruptive policy, written by Labor Unions.
It's nonsense. It doesn't make us richer, it makes us poorer. It doesn't make us safer, it makes immigration illicit. Worthy of nothing but contempt.

In my opinion a fence alone is very ineffective and is largely used as a visual effort to appease US citizens although I believe it to be a poor one. Consider the wall between East Berlin and West Berlin. What made it so successful? Armed guards that would shoot on sight and not the barrier its self. If I were to place 20 million dollars into a 20 foot tall fence enclosure and announced to the world that it was there it would only be a matter of minutes or hours before someone circumvented the fence. Now if I placed armed guards onto that fence and people knew they would shoot on sight I am betting my money would stay their for a much longer time.
I believe we need to approach this problem from multiple angles.

    - I would relocate all active service members found in the US and station them along our borders.

    - I would amend birthright citizenship to require at least one legal US citizen parent.

    - I would remove all incentives for them to cross. No public services would be given to illegal immigrants or their children except medical care in life threatening situations.

    - I would detain all that are found and give them 60 days to provide proof of legal status if none is provided I deport them.

    - I would better establish a free nationwide legal status checking system and require all employers to verify legal status before hiring a person. If an employer cannot show a reasonable attempt at verifying and are found to have employed illegals they have their business license revoked. None of this measly fine crap.

    - I would expand agents into every county in the us and ask local agencies to report and suspected illegal aliens. As of now many times once a illegal alien has made it into the interior they are largely safe. I know here local law enforcement are told not to apprehend a person based on legal status. It is not their jurisdiction. Unless they are breaking some other law they are ignored.

Im sure I could of more I would like to do but I need to get back to mowing.
