Many Hispanics on this forum are clearly illustrating that they don't ever assimilate. The ones that have apparently been here for years and have enjoyed all the benefits of an America built by traditional Americans seem to want only one thing now: More Mexicans, screw the United States.

Of course, that was Obama's racist plan all along.

Border-patrol drones being borrowed by other agencies more often than previously known......

A Predator drone operated by the U.S. Office of Air and Marine taxis toward the tarmac for a surveillance flight near the Mexican border on March 7, 2013 from Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista, Ariz

Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies are increasingly borrowing border-patrol drones for domestic surveillance operations, newly released records show, a harbinger of what is expected to become the commonplace use of unmanned aircraft by police.

Customs and Border Protection, which has the largest U.S. drone fleet of its kind outside the Defense Department, flew nearly 700 such surveillance missions on behalf of other agencies from 2010 to 2012, according to flight logs released recently in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a civil-liberties group.

The records show that the border-*patrol drones are being commissioned by other agencies more often than previously known. Most of the missions are performed for the Coast Guard, the Drug Enforcement Administration and immigration authorities. But they also aid in disaster relief and in the search for marijuana crops, methamphetamine labs and missing persons, among other missions not directly related to border protection.

Because they have sophisticated cameras and can remain in flight for many hours at a time, drones create novel privacy challenges. Civil libertarians have argued that these aircraft could lead to persistent visual surveillance of Americans on private property. Government lawyers have argued, however, that there is no meaningful legal distinction between the use of unmanned and piloted aircraft for surveillance.....snip~

Do you think Border Patrol can do their job a whole lot better f they have all their equipment to use?
Yes! My hat goes off to the Border Patrol for what they have to put up with - and that includes the crap they are told they must live with by our government as well as dealing with illegal aliens! Hassled on all sides! Whatever pay they're receiving, it's not enough!

Last summer, the border agency released a batch of records indicating that it had flown fewer than 500 missions during that period. Officials offered no explanation for why the earlier release of documents was incomplete.

Congress has directed the FAA to gradually open the national airspace to public and commercial drone traffic in the coming years. In the meantime, however, there is a huge, unfed appetite among police agencies for drones and their powerful surveillance tools, which include infrared cameras and specialized radar.

Customs and Border Protection has a fleet of 10 unarmed Predator B drones. They are virtually identical to an Air Force drone known as the Reaper. Both are manufactured by General Atomics, a major drone producer based in Southern California.

Customs and Border Protection flies its drones within a 25-mile-wide corridor along the nationís northern and southern borders, as well as over the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico.....snip~

The GOP continue to keep the promise of Eric Cantor's blank piece of paper as their agenda for 2014.
Remember that Repubs, with that little smirk on Cantor's face with his 2014 agenda on a blank sheet of paper.

Cantor now is replaced with a candidate with less than a blank agenda.
The Brat needs to have his face intertwined with the latest set of Bundy "domestic" terrorists .

Drones don't really do much for dissuasion unless they are armed.

What is a "real American"? assimilated? What does that mean? My daughters great Grandmother immigrated to the US from Mexico in the 40's. She worked, saved and by 1963 bought a two flat in a German community where very little english was spoken. She never learned a lick of English herself, yet she paid taxes and contributed to the community.
    Your comments are way off.

Heya Lady P. What does this say here? BO made several what was the term.....oh yeah, Administrative Changes. To Immigration Enforcement and also a Program for 2 years for some who came here before 2007 to avoid deportation.

The immigration court system was backlogged with as many as 30,000 pending cases before the most recent surge. Final decisions by immigration judges can take years, but that supposes immigrants dutifully attend their assigned hearings. Many won't. As many as one-quarter of the immigrants ordered to show up in court in recent years have failed to appear, according to the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Justice Department agency that runs immigration courts.

Instead, the government has more narrowly targeted people who return to the U.S. after they were deported, people who threaten U.S. national security and public safety and adults who can be subject to expedited deportation that takes hours or days.

The president has made several administrative changes to immigration enforcement, including a program to allow some young immigrants who came to the country before 2007 to avoid deportation and obtain a work permit for two years.

Adult immigrants caught crossing the Mexican border illegally are generally removed from the U.S. within hours or days of their arrest. But a federal law dating to President George W. Bush's administration requires that unaccompanied child immigrants must be turned over to HHS within three days. From there, many are reunited with parents or other relatives already in the United States or other sponsors before the lengthy court process beings.....snip~

Few immediate consequences for child immigrants
