Oh what are you yapping about. There plenty you can do. Most of its not very nice or Christian, but there is plenty that can be done to dissuade border jumpers.

I was being flippant, as noted in the first sentence of my post. The point being, if you advertise a goodie, people without many or any goodies are going too want to try to get some. It's simply human nature.

As I understand it, and there's been some talk about NAFTA, these are not Mexicans making their way north because NAFTA has actually benefited Mexico and helped retain workers in that country. The problem is with non-NAFTA or free trade countries in Central America, south of Mexico, with no economy and no hope and the Mexican authorities seem to shuffle these people right through Mexico and on to America.

As a result, it may be of benefit to America to start pumping more foreign relief money and economic benefit into these poor Central American countries and spend less in areas like the Middle East and South East Asia, if only as a means to stem the invasion from the south.

Once upon a time, these people wouldn't have been illegals, they would have been fed directly into the legal program, they would have stayed, or returned seasonally based on their own plans, generate some business as they worked here, and that would have been that. The Economic order goes on as it should.
Today, we have an economically disruptive system, one that categorically disallows people from coming here, not because they are violent, not because they are terrorists, not because they're ne'er do wells or seek welfare, but simply because they're low-skilled, and aren't from here.
If you are low skilled, and have no relatives living in the United States, you have no chance of coming here. There is no line for you, and you will simply be turned away.
Most immigrants fall into this category, so either they become illegals, or they don't come. That's the choice we've put in front of them.
Additionally, for High Skilled immigrants there is a shallow pool. 85,000 H1-B visas, 225,000 applicants a year. They go virtually within the first day. To assign them, the visas are put into a lottery.
That is our Government, turning away the next Elon Musk, the next Sergey Brin, the next Ajay Bhatt-led, simply because we didn't make enough visas to meet the demand. We are turning away growth & opportunity, and allowing ourselves to be technologically out-paced, because of a short-sighted, disruptive policy, written by Labor Unions.
It's nonsense. It doesn't make us richer, it makes us poorer. It doesn't make us safer, it makes immigration illicit. Worthy of nothing but contempt.
You really have it backward. It doesn't matter where the immigrant is from, current law requires the contractor to make valid and documented attempts to hire US citizens BEFORE they hire an immigrant.

The US uses a quota system. Each person who applies for a work visa is given a number. When their number comes up then they may enter the country legally with a work visa. The problem with the visa system is that it is backlogged for over 10 years for Mexico. The numbers are different for every country, and most do not have to wait that long. Once someone comes here legally with a work visa, they must return home periodically. Failure to do so is not a crime, even if their visa expires. But if the leave once their visa has expired they will face a 10 year bar, they will have to wait 10 years for another visa.

The actuaries have done the math and they have figured the amount of 'growth and opportunity' the country can stand, and have arrived at the current numbers.

And our government as of yet has not turned away any of them. When it does, we can only hope it is 'typhoid Mary' they send back.

But let's be honest here: the free rider effect to some degree is a given. Half of Americans don't pay the same Federal Taxes most immigrants don't. This isn't a problem with them, it's a problem with the system. Ilegal immigration only got out of hand once we abandoned Eisenhower's policies, and adopted ones being put forth by the AFL-CIO. So the fix is simple. Return to Eisenhower. economically wrong headed. Labor just like the other factor of production, Capital, must reach equilibrium, people must move from low producing countries to high producing ones. We have seen the mobility of Capital in our Globalized economy, investors overseas, and foreign companies setting up shop in the U.S. and vice versa. Labor must now follow, and it will do so whether it has our permission or not.
No Civil Law system, no political institution on Earth is stronger than the laws of Supply & Demand, they permeate through all. They are an irrevocable part of human nature.
Unaccompanied minors in diapers pay into our system? Wow. Who knew?

If President Obama is asking congress for $2,000,000,000 to deal with 90K...how many billions would it take to deport 12,000,000?
Doesn't matter how much they give him. He can't deport anyone himself. Only an immigration court can order deportation, and the US immigration courts have been backlogged for years.

Obama is going to **** and fall back in it. That's what he's going to do.

Exactly what they did. I expect many others will soon be doing the same. Personally, if they are all going to be 'processed' then they should ALL, every last one, have to go to DC to get that done. With regard to the mentally ill, TN is not perfect by any stretch, but they have done far more than most states because the capitol is in downtown Nashville, where the 3,000 people who were deinstitutionalized from the mental facilities end up. Having them on the doorstep of our legislators would do wonders, just like it did in Nashville.

Direct all the buses to Washington, DC. That will solve the problem.

Stop acting like standing in front of a bus solves anything.
Well, it did for that community, and if they all got sent to DC for 'procfessing' it would be solved very quickly.

Let me tell you something about the DC area that you may not know. The Metro, DC's underground rail system does not go to Georgetown, where most of our legislators live. Care to guess why? I'll tell you: It is to keep bums from getting on the Metro and riding it out to Georgetown. They can ride the Metro out to any other bedroom community of DC, but not Georgetown. I think a few bus loads processed in Georgetown would work wonders for our immigration system.

Proof: Obama Knew Illegal Immigrant Minors Were Coming, Has No Plans To Deport.....

    Is this the smoking gun?

Now, recently unearthed documents show the Obama Administration knew about the influx of tens of thousands of illegal immigrant children across our southern border and has no plans to return them to their home country. Back in January, the Department of Homeland Security submitted a bid to “escort” 65,000 unaccompanied children to locations across the country. Courtesy of weaselzippers.us, here’s the relevant text:

ICE is seeking the services of a responsible vendor that shares the philosophy of treating all UAC with dignity and respect, while adhering to standard operating procedures and policies that allow for an effective, efficient, and incident free transport. The Contractor shall provide unarmed escort staff, including management, supervision, manpower, training, certifications, licenses, drug testing, equipment, and supplies necessary to provide on-demand escort services for non-criminal/non-delinquent unaccompanied alien children ages infant to 17 years of age, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year.

More interestingly, the bid is for the “Office of Refugee Resettlement.” This office does NOT deport people. It resettles them. Their mission statement:

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) provides new populations with opportunities to maximize their potential in the United States, linking people in need to critical resources to assist them in becoming integrated members of American society.....snip~

Proof: Obama Knew Illegal Immigrant Minors Were Coming, Has No Plans To Deport - Downtrend

THank you. Some of that is helpful. Saying that 59% of AMericans 'think' anything isnt proof of anything tho, lol, except sometimes how ignorant the people in this country can be.

I am nearly 100% against illegal immigration. However I prefer to see the FACTS rather than the partisan blame crap. Bush opened the door to amnesty, not Obama. But it's plain that this administration is not doing anything constructive either.
