I find it incredibly disgusting that anyone would support a shakedown like this. Thank God we live in a country where the political sheisters and their minions can't get away with it.
What does her son receiving social security have anything to do with it? If she wants to take care of her son and not get paid, she certainly has a right not to get paid.

So, you would be more thankful to have these home healthcare workers get paid low wages?

    everything. Unions, are evil parasites
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

the same thing is going on in IL and who knows how many other states. where people taking care of their family or friends are deemed state employee's even though they receive 0 pay or benefits from it and the people they are taking care of have to pay union dues.

biggest scam in history finally got undone. the union should be ashamed of itself for taking money from disabled and elderly people.
they will be as people in MI are launching lawsuits for union dues paid.
    They are getting paid.

again it was a narrow ruling that only affect some healthcare workers no all and only in home care workers.
it was people that didn't want to join the union.

"If we accepted Illinois' argu*ment, we would approve an unprecedented violation of the bedrock principle that, except perhaps in the rarest of circumstances, no person in this country may be compelled to subsidize speech by a third party that he or she does not wish to support," Justice Samuel Alito said in the majority opinion. "The First Amendment prohibits the collection of an agency fee from personal assistants in the Rehabilitation Program who do not want to join or support the union."

It was a win for people that just want to take care of their family and or friends.

That unit includes Pamela Harris. She gets paid to take care of her developmentally disabled son, and led the opposition to the SEIU when her program's workers voted in 2009. Now, instead of getting paid a flat rate decided on by a collective bargaining agreement, those home care workers negotiate directly with the Medicaid recipient, who receives a certain amount of money that can be used for various types of treatment.
