Emails: IRS official sought audit of GOP senator[W:217:241]

Re: Emails: IRS official sought audit of GOP senator

Unfortunately the same way it did for Bush when his administration conveniently lost 22 million e-mails! Not a damn thing.

When the Bush White House lost 22 million emails, Darrell Issa didn't blame the President. He blamed IBM.

E-mails that WERE recovered, and once they were, there was obviously nothing sinister in them to hang on the Administration because we heard no more about them.

And remember that a special prosecutor was appointed for both the Valerie Plame scandal as well as the firing of the federal attorneys that was also a subject of requested e-mails during the Bush administration. You didn't have a President Bush sanctimoniously declaring outrage and pledging to get to the bottom of it and then doing nothing. During the Bush administration, wrong doing or questionable stuff WAS investigated until there were answers.

Bush wasn't good at hiding WMD either!
LOL...

You mean the stuff being used in the recent past in Syria?

LOL...

The US has both used and provided plenty of WMD on and to many countries.

When the **** are we going to stop taking about Bush in threads that have NOTHING to do with Bush?

Ooops.

Sorry, I fell for that derailing.

Never ever ever. Aren't you aware that it is always Bush's fault, always has been, and always WILL be Bush's fault?

Not true.

It's always my fault.

My ex wife taught me real well!

Here, let me educate you since it's obvious you won't educate yourself...

1. In December 2009, it was announced that the e-mails were found.
2. They were actually recovered while Bush was still in office, but nobody ran the story.
3. Their loss stemmed from a failure to install a properly working electronic record keeping system.
4. That system apparently mislabeled the emails, which is why they were "lost".
5. The Administration was aware of the problem in 2003, before they were ever requested by anyone and more than 2 years before it was made public.
6. In October 2003, the Administration called technicians from Microsoft to help them find the electronic messages.

The important thing, though, is that we are constantly reminded of who is NOT at fault.

Re: Emails: IRS official sought audit of GOP senator

Even that sounds fishy. I understand she sent the email targeting Grassley with an "exam" over her blackberry. Is that the smoking gun in retrieving these lost emails or has her blackberry crashed too?

Good question. I don't know whether the Blackberry is a smoking gun, but if it has crashed, I won't be surprised. Anything's possible.

I'm starting to see that trend. ;)

That will never happen... It is a strategy that is vital to the left to so they can avoid having to deal with any facts that conflict with their political beliefs.

It's the same when the subject of media bias is discussed... They will always bring Fox News into the discussion for exactly the same reason, when Fox has nothing to do with what's being discussed.

Yes, me too. BUT. . . . it IS pertinent if they are going to revert to the 'blame Bush' deflection to get the focus off of 'the messiah', pointing out the differences of how scandals were handled in each administration is legitimate. Scandals WERE addressed to their conclusion in the Bush administration. We haven't seen any evidence of that in the Obama administration have we.

I think of Tommy Flanagan when I think of the mysterious and convenient hard drive catastrophes:

It just means they ran out of valid arguments.

I'm under the impression by law that a hard copy of all emails has to be printed. The name of the E-mail storage firm the IRS used until breaking their contract with them shortly after Congress began asking questions of wrong doing is Sonasoft. Here's one of their commercials that claims no computer crash is too much for them to handle. As of a couple days ago they still had the IRS listed as a client.

Don't worry, if a republican wins the Whitehouse next time, there will be no end to the blaming of Obama for his/her failures, too! It's the partisan way.

Don't forget point number seven, 7. Issa blamed IBM not Bush.

Re: Emails: IRS official sought audit of GOP senator

I did and discounted it as a leftwing snarky talking point irrelevent to the thread topic.

It's hilarious you guys still think I'm a lefty, critical of the Obama presidency as I am. The whole point of that story is hypocrisy, something we see as just a matter of business on both sides. Issa blamed IBM, not Bush!!

Re: Emails: IRS official sought audit of GOP senator

Don't forget point number seven, 7. Issa blamed IBM not Bush.

Maybe because that was appropriate since Bush's enemies were gung ho to hang him and couldn't find a shred of evidence that he had anything to do with the misplaced e-mails, and he did absolutely nothing to prevent the correction of that misplacement, and there was nothing to point to him or his office as the problem, and nobody took the Fifth when the questions were asked. Nor did he do anything to prevent the Justice Department from conducting a full investigation and coming up with answers that could not be questioned.

Where is there any evidence that the Justice Dept. is investigating ANYTHING scandalous in the Obama Administration? Where are the special prosecutors? How do we reconcile a clueless President Obama who knew nothing about it until he read it in the papers to an 'outraged' President Obama pledging to get to the bottom of it to a President Obama saying we can't come to any conclusions until the investigation is completed to a President Obama indignantly claiming that there is not one shred of evidence to support the phony scandals even as new scandals pile in on top of the old ones?
