No, she apparently got it in the mail, based on Matthew's comment in the email exchange:

"Your and Grassley's invitations were placed in each other's envelopes." (12/4/12 email at 12:27 pm to Lois)

It was mailed via USPS and it said something about the wrong envelopes, so whoever mailed it got her invitation mixed up with Grassley's envelope, and vice versa. Clerical error?

Have they given you a time for the re-training?

How could the reference in the email cause someone to assume any form of payment in this matter was inappropriate, warranting an IRS audit? Were you aware of the time frame, and Grassley's investigation going on at the time? Are we seeing revenge audits implied by her request to examine Grassley?

It's really all a bit foolish for the left to bury their heads and try to spin this very disturbing situation, but I am grateful the blindness is being exposed for all the public to learn from.

Oh definitely - no doubt about it! But I think I'm missing something here - where did the e-mail that has suddenly been found- the one which she supposedly received in error, enter the picture? The topic was about "accidently" destroyed e-mails, not the USPS delivering a letter.

    Greetings, tres borrachos.

    Morning Pol!

Maybe I don't know the entire story, but I don't know about any emails she received in error, just the invitation was received in error (via USPS, presumably, because of the mention of the "envelopes"). What email did she get in error?

It wasn't an email. It was a paper invitation and whoever sent them switcher hers and Grassleys when stuffing the envelopes.

Pbrauer posted some copies of e-mails yesterday. In reading those, I see I am in error in thinking the invitation came by e-mail - which was the reason why I questioned how an e-mail could be sent to the wrong person when you have to type in where it goes. The e-mails in question between her and her attorney? are on an entirely different matter - she apparently was targeting Grassley on travel expenses for his wife, and was that legal? Apparently it is. Still important, because of the targeting of a member from the Republican party, which is the reason for the IRS scandal in the first place, I guess. I didn't know till you mentioned it this morning that the invite came via the USPS. Sorry, tres. My mistake.

You should never be embarrassed. You're one of the most decent people on this site (and on any message board for that matter).

I know now - and I am embarrassed because I had originally questioned how an e-mail could be sent to the wrong person. *face very red about my mistake* I have already smacked myself, BTW.

    Greetings, Lutherf.
