Absolutely incorrect. He probably killed over a million. Please read books.

Along with other human rights organizations, The Documental Centre for Human Rights in Iraq has compiled documentation on over 600,000 civilian executions in Iraq. Human Rights Watch reports that in one operation alone, the Anfal, Saddam killed 100,000 Kurdish Iraqis. Another 500,000 are estimated to have died in Saddam's needless war with Iran. Coldly taken as a daily average for the 24 years of Saddam's reign, these numbers give us a horrifying picture of between 70 and 125 civilian deaths per day for every one of Saddam's 8,000-odd days in power"
    IRAQ: Deaths under Saddam Hussein

According to The New York Times, "he [Saddam] murdered as many as a million of his people, many with poison gas. He tortured, maimed and imprisoned countless more. His unprovoked invasion of Iran is estimated to have left another million people dead. His seizure of Kuwait threw the Middle East into crisis. More insidious, arguably, was the psychological damage he inflicted on his own land. Hussein created a nation of informants friends on friends, circles within circles making an entire population complicit in his rule".[9] Other estimates as to the number of Iraqis killed by Saddam's regime vary from roughly a quarter to half a million,[10][11] including 50,000 to 182,000 Kurds and 25,000 to 280,000 killed during the repression of the 1991 rebellion.[12][13] Estimates for the number of dead in the Iran-Iraq war range upwards from 300,000.[14]

And that's not profound either. 500,000 dead innocent civilians, 4,500 dead US servicemen/women and 1 trillion dollars wasted with Iraq far FAR worse off than when Saddam was in power, but keep deceiving yourself otherwise in your feeble attempt to defend BushCo.
Your partisanship prevents you from seeing the truth, and apparently causes you to desire for tyrannical dictators. Aint leftism grand?

And that premise is false considering ALL sides do not like the U.S. You would rather US as a nation enter into a battle where nobody likes us and we become a target for BOTH sides. Sorry, but that is not smart at all and I'm glad Obama put a stop to it (I hope) and let Syria and Iran handle it.

I'd rather Iran and Syrian troops and money be spent rather than U.s. money and U.S. troops lives be spent for a country where a large portion of the TRAINED army just picked up and retreated without a fight.

You would rather lives and money be spent from the U.s. on a hopeless cause for people who don't even want us around.

And I can't believe we have people here who actually believe that the illegal Iraq war was won, first and a Bush success furthermore.

President George W. Bush and seven of his administration's top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Nearly five years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an exhaustive examination of the record shows that the statements were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.

Killing one person is murder, killing 100,000 is foreign policy

By a margin of 39% for and 54% against any U.S. military action in Iraq, the American public agree with you.

Support for Iraq Military Action Low in Historical Context
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

We attacked because Saddam violated the Ceasefire from Desert Storm. Repeatedly. We did find WMD's. We did find terrorists. And we cleaned them out.

Once again, if interference in the ME is the reason for these attacks then explain islamic terrorist attacks in regions that do NOT interfere. The world has a problem-its islamic terrorism-and they wont be appeased. Sorry if thats news.

Adding half a million casualties of war with Iran to Saddam's kill list is dishonest of you, but little surprise.
