And if you don't think it is killing job growth, I have no idea what planet you are currently living on. So many employers where I live are not able to hire because of the increased costs that come from Obamacare. Where I work, we recently expanded and they only promoted 60% of what they needed to, numbers wise, because of the increased cost of adding so many full time employees. Full-time jobs in my industry are almost impossible to come by and business is down from last year at this time overall.

I work in the casino business and I live in a city that relies heavily on tourism. Fewer people have disposable income, businesses are contracting and job growth is falling behind those who are falling off the unemployment rolls. The job participation rate is the lowest in how many years? If you want to do some research, check out those jaw-dropping stats!

The ACA, regulations and the economic policies of this administration are absolutely killing our economy. To deny this is to do so from either ignorance of the world around them or from intellectual dishonesty. So what is it with you specifically?

I think your answer is here.

I definitely chose to stay in more than normal and I don't even live in the area of the country that was hit the hardest. Of course I don't spend that much money in the first place.

People are acting like the United States has never had bad weather before. Many of the areas saw worst winters in previous decades that did not bring about massive declines in GDP, while one has to consider that many major states actually saw better winters than they have in a long time. Only time the U.S. has seen GDP declines of this level it has been during a recession. Now is about when those of you acting as if all is good drop the Kool-Aid.

    What numbers were cooked ?

Remember in 1960 and JFK ran on a "missile gap" ?

Ends up there was no missile gap. But close to half of America believed JFK and with the help of corpse's in Cook County, Ill. JFK became POTUS in 61 and soon gave us the Vietnam War.

These folks understand that there is a direct link to deficit spending that leads to debt and results in stifling economic growth. They know that crony capitalism sets up an unfair playing field that sets up so many businesses to fail. These folks know that allowing countless regulations which are hidden taxes due to environmentalists lobbies and political agendas to the feckless legislation over Amnesty by folks like Grover Norquist's lobbies and Chamber of Commerce lobbies that are screwing them while our borders remain unsecured while terrorism increases. Hello? Today in Washington it is all about who gets the power to payoff their special interests often at the cost of every damn American. There is a group of people trying to change that but unfortunately there's a media and the elites of both parties who have done a damn good job of bastardizing them.
Agreed. I do like that fringe of the Republican Party.

    Exactly.

Plus, more then half the population of America was barely/not affected by winter storms.

I don't see why Baby Boomers retiring is going to increase income inequality figures.
Well, I a 6 figure salary earner retired on SS and 3 other pensions. That is a considerable gap right there. Many others will do the same.

Beyond that, there are no limits on the amount of money a person in the United States can make. That is what constituted the 'American Dream.' Thinking you deserve any portion of what someone else has worked to earn, build, or garner for himself is ludicrous. The taxes right now constitute robbery of hard working American citizens, and this Robin Hood government takes and gives it to people who could but will not work. You can throw up all the bile you want in the direction of corporate America, it is corporate America that keeps this country running, not welfare families.

To repeat myself, both parties have failed us. A new party built on the interests of Main Street not Wall Street is the solution. But until there are more fed Americans than there are partisans, there's little hope. Ron and Rand tried/try to work from within the party, but that won't do it.
