North Korea has promised "merciless" retaliation if a forthcoming Hollywood movie about killing Kim Jong-un is released, say agencies.
A North Korean foreign ministry spokesman said in state media that the movie's release would be an "act of war".
He did not mention the title, but a Hollywood movie called The Interview with a similar plot is due in October.

--snip--

The North Korea spokesman was quoted by the state KCNA news agency as saying: "Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated."
He added that the "reckless US provocative insanity" of mobilising a "gangster filmmaker" to challenge the North's leadership was triggering "a gust of hatred and rage" among North Korean people and soldiers. Link.

Should America be worried?

There was once a Peter Sellers comedy film called "the Mouse that roared" and this is beginning to remind me of that except in Sellers movie, people weren't starving or brutalised as they are in North Korea.

Should America be worried? - NO.
What does the U.S. possibly have to fear from that backwards rinky dink country?

Do we have diplomats in the country? 8)

Ummm, nukes

With no way to deliver them. No if the NK leadership truly went crazy enough to commit suicide by throwing the bomb at South Korea, then I'd be worried.

I'd tell fat boy to bring it. International dictators are cowards and ******s. He's no different.

Isn't North Korea always threatening war against us?

Being that the US has tens of thousands of troops there. (one might be my Son-in-law shortly) I tend to have reservations.

But they can deliver.

They can deliver on the Korean Peninsula, but do you really think he is going to go to war with the U.S. over a movie? He knows he would be overthrown and most likely killed if he went to war with the U.S.

He's like his father, all talk no action. The usual sabre rattling. Fat boy isn't going to sacrifice his king life over a movie.

Personally I think its hilarious he's getting all upset over this though.

Yeah but he's never threatened war with the US on a Wednesday, he's just ticking off his to-do-before-I-die list.

This calls for some very delicate diplomacy and there is only one man with the gravitas necessary to pull it off.

Oh no! Not another "protest" over a video. ;)

Well I guess this is one movie I will add to my "Red Box, 2 for 1 rental" list.

If they didn't do anything after 'Team America World Police' I'm pretty sure this one will slide by without indecent.

I would hate for any American to die because of some movie. That definitely is not worth it. I understand we are The United States and succumbing to North Korea's wish goes against our image and strength, but any American dead because of this is not worth it. I would rather have The United State's reputation hurt a little bit than some dead Americans.
