Cochran wins

I don't hear anything illegal in that video. The caller encouraged the callee to vote for Senator Thad Cochran and say NO to the Tea Party. That seems to me to be a free exercise of free speech, something the Tea Party says they support.
Don't confuse the title given to the video by another with anything I haven't said. :doh Duh!

I have been at the Hinds County Court house this morning.
Here's a page from Hinds County voter roll book.
The column on the left is where the voter voted in Democrat primary on June 3rd 2014.
The column on the right is where that same voter voted in the Republican run off on June 24th 2014.
This is patently illegal!

The problem is the Hinds County Republican Party in my opinion is dragging its feet in allowing access to "all" the voter information in a timely fashion to complete the audit.
It appears they are trying to run the clock out and certify the election results on Monday of next week preventing Chris McDaniel from completing an audit of the vote.

McDaniel's people have already uncovered 700 illegal votes in Hinds county alone, and they aren't done counting there.

If McDaniel pushes this hard enough, then the evidence will show that McDaniel himself committed voter fraud. From Mississippi Code:

"§ 23-15-575. Participation in primary election

No person shall be eligible to participate in any primary election unless he intends to support the nominations made in the primary in which he participates
."

Since McDaniel has no intention of supporting the nominee, then he committed voter fraud when he cast his vote.

He actually said he would pray about it.

open primary i believe
wonder if it was the democrats who pushed thad over the top

Looks like you're probably right.

The problem is that Mississippi, which doesn’t have voter registration by party, has a statute that prohibits people from voting in a party primary if they don’t intend to vote for that party’s nominee. However, save an outright declaration of intent or the ability of an election judge to read minds, it’s hard to determine voter intent months in advance.

Who do you think this get-out-to-vote ad targeted? I'm sure it wasn't Republicans.

'The worst race-baiting ads I've ever seen': Radio ads in Mississippi senate race accused tea party candidate of Ku Klux Klan links and drove black Democrats to vote against him in a REPUBLICAN primary

I guess some people are dumb enough to fall for just about anything.

It's past wondering if Cochran overstepped GOP principles. It is a well accepted fact that indeed he did. He sought the vote of Democrats and hired some insiders inside the Republican party such as Haley Barbour's relative to do just that. As of Friday there were those calling on the RNC head to take charge of finding out how badly the fraud is after discovering over 1000 illegal votes by registered Democrats that had voted in the primary earlier and double dipped to vote again in the run off, in just one county alone.

RNC Chief Priebus has actually orchestrated this whole anti-TEA primary season as to not repeat the Akin/Mourdock phenomenon. Priebus has been cloaked lately but surely was involved, as well as with Lankford pulling away in Oklahoma with Coburn's help and Tancredo getting trounced in Colorado. I'm not aware of any TEAs who have won this cycle except the Brat, who received only 35,000 votes of a potential 750,000 in that CD against Cantor .

I don't understand how voters can vote twice, but even if they did, Cochran still got more total votes than McDaniel. Reminds me of something Yoda might say to McDaniel : "lost you did - over it you must get!"

My sister is visiting here from California, and today she wanted to go to our outdoor Hartville Marketplace, which is a farmers' market/flea market site about 20 miles from where I live. It sits on 12 acres, several under roof, has over 800 vendors, and you can find everything under the sun for sale, both new and used! She insists on going there every time she visits - they apparently have nothing comparable where she lives. It was 92 degrees and humid, I felt like I was going on a hike on concrete, but very much enjoyed the haggling which is expected, and we thoroughly had a great time! No high heels on this jaunt! There is also a huge restaurant there which is owned and run by the Amish community, which always has long lines waiting to be seated - the waitresses all wear the little white head coverings and wear the requisite blue dresses with white aprons - and wow is that food good! Their pies are to die for, so we bought a couple to take home, too...we were thoroughly stuffed but happy when we left to return home! Fun day! Earlier this week we went to visit the Edgar Cayce Institute in Virginia Beach, Va, but that's another story for another time! Amadeus would enjoy it!

Greetings, Vesper. :2wave:

I would agree with you that the winner is the winner if the election was upright. There are 82 counties in Mississippi. In one country alone they found 1000 democrats voting for Cochran that were ineligible. The election results need to be investigated.

:agree: Mississippi is an open primary state, so you can vote for either party, but how could any voter think it's okay to vote for both parties? I understand that the Democrat candidate ran unopposed, but I don't know that for sure. Is it possible that those voters who may have voted twice thought they needed to state a preference between the two Republican candidates to run against the Dem? This is weird!

Either way, there are a minimum of 1000 illegal votes.

Well this thread appears interesting...

Do I see 2 republicans arguing over potential voter fraud?

A carpet bagger is someone who runs for office in a district they just moved to or do not live in.

Does anyone think that "carpet" bagger had the same conotation as a Tea "bagger" way back in the day? Can you bag "carpet"???

No/maybe.
Carpetbagger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Teabagger, or rather "teabagging", is either an insult, a somewhat disturbing sexual act (IMO), or both.

In both cases, however, a NEGATIVE connotation exists. Different, but negative.

I do not think democrats back then resorted to sexual puns like they do now.

You see two conservatives agreeing about voter fraud. I am not a republican.

I meant the two candidates, actually.

Well...one of the two candidates is a RINO that employed some very nasty tactics and the other is an actual conservative. There is at least a chance that the runoff election may be nullified as there are mounting numbers of democrats who voted both in the democrat and republican primary. Those are illegal votes.

Is there a law in Mississippi that disallows people from voting in both open primaries?

Supposedly there is.

So far as I can tell, it's basically just this:

§ 23-15-575. Participation in primary election.
No person shall be eligible to participate in any primary election unless he intends to support the nominations made
in the primary in which he participates.

Got the info from here, which was linked to from some site called "ballotpedia"

It appears to be unenforceable and thus meaningless.
