Actually not in quite a few states. Requiring someone to dress a certain way according to their gender would be considered sex discrimination in a lot of states.

I do agree with this. Obey the rules and push to have them changed if you dont agree with them.

If a guy feels like wearing a little chung-li skirt from street fighter how is this a costume if the person is wearing it out of normalcy? Hes not trying to make himself like another, false person. He actually conforming to the rules if this is how he goes out normally.

He can be his own person on his own time. If there's a given standard then people need to deal with it. You can't run an operation like the DMV if everyone gets to make up their own rules.

DMV is in the wrong. Nowhere in that law does it say a person must dress according to a narrow definition of what sheltered people think those with their genitals ought to look like.

It's obvious just by looking at him that this is his every-day wear. He's grown out and highlighted his hair. His eyebrows are shaped. His make-up looks just like the make-up we see on plenty of women -- it's not "costume make-up." That's all a result of months or years of practice, and these are things that take time to create.

I've never heard of the DMV saying this to a woman who wears make-up.

He states himself as a boy who is gender non-conforming. The correct pronoun is "he," which his mother uses as well. This is quite simple.

There is no reason to refer to someone as "it" unless you are being intentionally insulting. If you are truly totally stumped about someone's gender, "they" is an option which doesn't refer to someone as an object, and you know this.

I feel the compassionate conservatism. Can you feel it?

    And I agree

    And I agree with you.

If the rules aren't fair to all they should be changed.

This is nonsense. Other states have dealt with this without this BS. Honestly. This is total insanity.

The difference between his picture in the DL and everyday image are negligible. I'm not sure what the DMV people proved anything by having him take his make up off. All they did was give him fodder for cries of discrimination.
