Does that sound better to you?
No, both are bad. This war is Iraq's war. Once we broke it, it's was always going to end with Iraq deciding what they would be.

Would anyone feel comfortable serving under this guy? He is in way over his head yet law and tradition say he must be obeyed.

Joe Biden would probably do a better job, just by following advice from experienced people.

You feel that Iraq is going through that decision-making process now, and you're waiting for the people to display their purple fingers once the vote is decided? The fact is that the United States got involved in Iraq and helped create the mess that is there now.

That involvement was invading in the first place. And that is what created the mess. No matter how long we interfere and prop up, we just delay the coming battle. The civil war will be fought and we can't control the outcome.

Nope, you're right...Iran will help decide, because 'fundamental transformation' really meant weakening our influence in the world. Good for the people right?

Not with Obama in charge - he will send US troops to Iraq regardless of his assertion that he would not.

Invading Iraq started the civil war in Syria?

Nonsense. Iran helped Bush invade. Don't you remember? No one hurt us more in world influence than Bush. Again, the problem was invading in the first place. After that, there was no good move left.

He shouldn't. He'll be damned either way. But he should not send troops.

It may have contributed, but it certainly destabilized Iraq making them more open to other influences. It made certain that more fighting would come the second we left, no matter when that was.
