I saw this story.. all I know is my heart is broken for the little girl...the KFC thang is just proof of her hardship..

if there is a God please let some great Dr help her more.. no little girl should ever have to feel as badly as she does..

God willing they can fix her....

Strange story indeed. I'm trying to picture patrons of a fast food restaurant going to the people behind the register in droves and asking to have a young girl removed because of her feeding tubes and eye patch. That right there seems odd. If something in a fast food place offends them, most people leave. It isn't like you sit down and have a long enjoyable meal with appetizers, cocktails and dessert.

How come they haven't identified the employee yet? I would think it would be very easy to do so. There are how many people working in a KFC in a day shift?

Not saying it didn't happen - I obviously have no idea - but the whole story seems a little unclear to pass any judgment on KFC right now.

Would have written a check for 25k out of the goodness of their hearts? Maybe.

Well, given the bad press they were getting, it looks that way.

    And from the OP:

"As soon as we were notified of this report Friday, we immediately began an investigation, as this kind of hurtful and disrespectful action would not be tolerated by KFC," the company said. "Regardless of the outcome of our investigation, we have apologized to Victoria's family and are committed to assisting them."
They obviously had only heard about it and pledged the money then as a result of the "story", not their investigation which in their own words wasn't complete.

I suspect if the story ends up having no legs, they can always back out of it - and would know that.

KFC has a PR Department whose job is to stop any potential bleeding.

    Something is fishy here...
You're off on the timeline of the story. Her face was bitten some time ago (around April). This KFC incident just happened (like sometime in the last few days) as the girl's grandmother was bringing her home from a doctor's appointment. And the grandmother taking her places said that it was her "other" grandfather (so the other side of the family) who owned the dogs that bit the girl. Two different incidents.

    She's a gorgeous little girl.

I'd love to give her a big, big hug!

She should know just how beautiful she is.

My understanding is that it was only the girl and her grandmother at the KFC. And the girl was crying by the time she reached the car because she knew that they had been asked to leave because of how she looked. Likely the grandmother was more concerned with the girl at the time than making a scene. I can see myself doing either, standing up for myself/someone else or simply leaving, depending on the atmosphere of the restaurant I was in for a similar situation.

Now, whether it was really the customers or some jerkwad employee is what I question. I honestly believe that this was much more likely to be an employee who took it upon their own to tell them to leave. Now, it is possible that one of the customers showed some contempt for the girl (God knows there are plenty of assholes in this world who feel that they have some right to eat out without looking at certain people who "disgust them", such a thought just makes me angry), but the blame (assuming it actually happened, although I do believe it probably did) lies with the employees who, even if they got any verbal complaints, should have simply told those other customers too bad. Overall, the negative publicity of turning away a scarred 4 year old girl is certainly going to be much worse (if everything is found to be true) than any complaints by customers who may have been there at the time.
