I don't usually pay much attention to 'accused' reports.
When they are 'convicted' reports - then I am interested.
Innocent until proven guilty.
Additionally - poor little girl...life is hard enough without having that terrible beanball (initial attack) thrown at you.
I hope the rest of her life makes up for the beginning...in spades.
'What kind of sick and twisted toy factory is this?'
'We are all the sum of our tears. Too little and the ground is not fertile, and nothing can grow there. Too much, the best of us is washed away.'
"Better to be dead and cool, than alive and uncool."
This whole story sounded fishy as the infamous moron years ago who claimed a big black guy carved a backwards "B" on her face.
The first clue was that the grandmother's story that this occurred at a KFC franchise that had been closed for years. Truly hard that people would be sickened by a little girl with scars on her face. I find some of the 300 pound plus sloths sitting in the booth slurping on chicken bones to be more offensive but never complained to management.
So now what if this was a hoax? The innocent workers at KFC have had death threats, drinks tossed at the drive thru window, and verbal harassment. Does the family get to keep the some $135,000 raised through an online donation site?
The heart-wrenching story of a disfigured 3-year-old child being asked to leave a Jackson KFC because her appearance was scaring other customers was a made-up story that resulted in the family bilking the public and professionals for more than $135,000 in cash, as well as gifts and free surgeries, sources with deep knowledge of the investigation said exclusively to the Laurel Leader-Call.
The sources spoke on the condition of strict anonymity because they were not permitted to speak on the record.
A few of us were saying in this thread that this was most likely a hoax, and some of us were taken to task for it.
The story was completely unbelievable from the beginning. I'm sorry, but while people are and can be heartless, we have heard countless stories of people using their family members for financial gain in the past.
I do hope that poor girl is removed from this family and sent somewhere safe.
