Report: 1 of Taliban 5 may be linked to 9/11 attacks

Is today Misleading Headline Day?

The claim is that the guy might have been involved with the assassination of a Northern Alliance commander two days before 9/11.

Didn't get the media matters memo yet or just want to ignore the events may have well been related.

There's no hope. We have killed the No. 2 al Qaeda at least 6 times. We invaded Iraq and destroyed the country, its infrastructure, its people and its future even though the Taliban was in Afghanistan. That was a brilliant White House tactic.

The Taliban numbered a few thousand before we invaded Afghanistan. Now they number in the tens of thousands and suddenly 1 in 5 are responsible for 9/11. LOL! Apparently we have the ability to survey Taliban members as to their participation in the 9/11 attacks and in doing so we find that 1 in 5 report their involvement. Yet at the same time, we don't know who or where most of those people are!

It's related to 9/11.

The assassination was ordered by Al Qaeda.

If Unitedwestand is around maybe he'll chime in.

Or you can always fall back on old technology and read the "9/11 Commission Report."

Or you can fall back on saying this was made up **** to embarrass Barck Obama back in 2004. :lamo

Last week a delivery boy for the Taliban ate Ramen noodles for breakfast. Ramen noodles are now thought to be connected to 9/11.

MOre sheep bleating from the sheep of the right wing noise machine.

I think he means that 1 of the 5 Taliban we traded for Bergdahl was "involved" in 9/11. That doesn't make the story any less BS, though.

the assassination of Ahmed SHah Massoud happened two days before 9/11.

he was the best fighter in the northern alliance and might have been a better leader than Karzai (unfortunatly the ethnic Pashtun's would never accept him as leader of Afghanistan because Massoud was a ethnic Tajik)

I have a feeling that Al Qeada wanted Massoud dead because he was a threat.

Oh, I don't doubt it. I just think it was tangentially related to the 9/11 attacks. The headline on the Fox Story is (unsurprisingly) misleading -- it clearly is meant to evoke the attacks on the Twin Towers and Pentagon when the incident in question had nothing to do with that.

How quickly our left wing friends have forgoten about 9/11 and the people who die there. so sad.

tell me how letting the group who commited the deed escape from afghanistan and instead attack a country that did not participate in the attack.

Excuse me? The guy in question had quite literally NOTHING to do with the attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon.

Report: One of Taliban Five Possibly Linked to 9/11 Terror Attack

Fox News Channel's Catherine Herridge reported Mohammad Fazl, one of the five top Taliban commanders that were swapped for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, played a key role in al Qaeda’s planing of September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

On September 9, 2001, Fazl facilitated the assignation of Northern Alliance commander. Ahmed Shah Massoud in a suicide bombing which the 9/11 commission deemed as the first part of al Qaeda’s three-step plan. Fazi reportedly helped with step two as well which was an coordinated al Qaeda attack with the Taliban against the Northern Alliance.

The source is most likely an unverifiable: "Some people say..."

Don't forget that your left wing friends are the ones that had Osama bin Laden killed. Not your ilk...

Oh noes... I've eaten hummus before. And I think some people in al Qaeda have eaten hummus before. HOLY CRAP!

Of course he was a threat. He and his forces were the mujas that the US trained and equipped to fight the Soviets. Massoud had training and experience that the Tals couldn't touch. They also knew that in the event of an American invasion, Massoud would use that knowledge, along with American support, to pound the Tals into dust.

You gotta love it--911 is the gift that keeps on giving, all these years later.

Invoke as needed to stir the masses.
