House Majority Leader Cantor loses GOP primary to tea-party challenger[W:243:247:349]

Re: Eric Cantor is Gone

SSM and abortion.

2 right off the top.

Next question?
Actually I agree with SSM but don't approve of abortion, or its trivialization. But it should be legal.

And let's keep in mind that you classify yourself as a 'moderate'.

Re: Eric Cantor is Gone

Seems to be? You're guessing again at what he has to say?
It is impossible to discuss issues with leftists without talking down to them. They're juvenile.
Another example. I'm not even Christian!
I see you've done your homework.
You're guessing at what was being said again.
Who are you quoting here?

Actually, our forefathers had a lot to say about America not being founded on Christianity, but my favorite quote is from Thomas Jefferson..........

"Where the preamble declares, that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion, an amendment was proposed by inserting "Jesus Christ," so that it would read "A departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion;" the insertion was rejected by the great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mohammedan, the Hindoo and Infidel of every denomination."

Well, you failed. Those are not equal rights issues. Well, maybe abortion is. The unborn child currently has no right to live.

Re: Eric Cantor is Gone

Previously I viewed Cantor's defeat as a blessing. A blessing because Cantor was one of the worst bought-and-paid-for quack pot obstructionists in the House.
With Cantor and his replacement both voting the same way, our Country really does not lose or gain anything. But the Republican Party takes a big hit because they lose a power figure and a brand name.
For this reason I consider it a win for the people.

But now I am starting to see the potential for a super win.
It turns out that Dave Brat is a total freak and completely insane.
Democrats will actually stand a really good chance to defeat the Republican Party in November and take Cantor's district.
Even the most extremist Conservatives will have to think twice about showing up to vote for Brat.
Its only been a couple of days and we are already learning Brat is a quack pot.
How much more will we learn over the next several months?
