They said that the SPU shooter in Seattle admired the Littleton, CO and VT shooters.

What the **** is there to admire? They were losers that took up guns against unarmed people.

    That's called a "coward."

The office has been buzzing and it is amazing how much wrong information can come out so quickly. The important thing is that the scene has been secured.
It just seems some want guns outlawed and will use any excuse to have the Second Amendment murdered.

People who want guns outlawed are the extreme. The are Pro-gun people who go to the extreme. If either side was the majority, we might have something here. The reality is that guns aren't going anywhere.

My understanding is that school shooting incidents have been statistically pretty steady for some time now, so I assume if it seems otherwise, it is media overcoverage.

It's well known that some people will copy-cat other crimes, especially if the original criminal got lots of media face-time (ie "glory").

Yes but he specifically was interviewed and quoted as saying he admired them.

    What is there to admire?

Having read a book called "We have to talk about Kevin" it described exactly how they even try to 'one-up' each other. They know all the other shooters's 'stats' and how they operated. It still doesnt show anything worth admiring except that these losers show that they have no other way to distinguish themselves in life, so they choose methods and weapons that give them an overpowering edige so they 'cant lose.'

It's a good book btw. They made it into a movie but I havent seen it yet.

And that understanding is based on what? Wishful thinking?

    School shootings from 1979-2011

    74 since the beginning of 2013. 75 from 2006-2011. 26 from 2000-2005.

Seems pretty steady. Steadily exponentially increasing, that is.

Possibly the stats I was thinking of involved "mass shootings". I don't recall exactly.

Ok. School shootings are up then. So what's your answer?

Wow, look what I just found...

CNN Slashes School Shooting Stats Claim By 80 Percent | The Daily Caller

“CNN determined that 15 of the incidents Everytown included were situations similar to the violence in Oregon – a minor or adult actively shooting inside or near a school,” said CNN.

Just 15 of the alleged 74 were the real deal... well, how embarrassing for CNN and Everytown for Gun Safety, which is backed by former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.
