Billionaire Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault Charge

Nice drive by snarky. I guess the fact that this was Wisconsin won't convince you that your comment was as inappropriate as it is. Lame.

Things go better in Wisconsin with Koch.

I don't think so, it was, or they were vying for a felony charge, but since the victims didn't wish to cooperate, the charge was reduced to a misdemeanor.

fourth months-6 thousand dollar fine is an extremely stiff sentence for a first time misdemeanor

It should have remained a felony IMO.

maybe so but 95% of criminal cases are plea bargained out. and the sentence he got for a MI was really stiff

Well, he plea bargained (lawyer) it's reasonable because felony child molestation is a pretty serious crime, it's like 60 years imprisonment and a $100,000 fine or something like that, he got off easy. I'm thinking he had a class B felony charge. Class B because he allegedly molested two children.

again, the sentences for first time M1 offenses are almost never anything near that stiff

It should be. That's probably the problem. These losers only get a slap on the wrist for their disgusting acts.

In which case he'd likely have plead not guilty, the prosecution could prevent no evidence so he'd have walked free.

What's ironic is that the only reason authorities even found out about the allegations was because Johnson himself, while in counseling at a clinic, disclosed something that triggered a mandatory report.

It's Texas, they're always bragging about their state coffers.

Why the hell is everyone trying to blame Texas?

Does anyone have any idea how corrupt the Illinois judicial system is?

Well, dude, thinking about this, I wondered how I'd feel, and what I'd like to do to a man who would molest my child (hypothetically of course) who is or was nearly 3 times her age, it wouldn't be pretty either. There's something mentally wrong with men who think children are open game for them.

Do you think they should be punished for their mental illness?

Institutionalized or rehabbed, given anti testosterone injections, maybe.

I am all for chemical castration, although other people tend to freak out about it.

Oh we agree completely on that count

I am not making a judgment-I am just saying what I know about sentencing

Not sure how Wisconsin handles pedophiles, IMO - not very well, pertaining to where this man will be residing in the future, whether the state will inform people who reside in his general vicinity who might have children, or if they'll (state) will force him to relocate to an area where no children live, or what.

In my ghetto, they have men released (former offenders of different crimes) into our apartment complex who were released for an array of reasons. Once, they released a pedophile into one of the apartments, a woman who had minor children found out and moved out very quickly. IMO, this state is stupid.

Isn't there a national sex offender registry? When my son was smaller, I would always check out the sex offender lists where I was moving and I even showed him pictures of the losers who might live in our area.

As treatment for an illness or punishment for a willful criminal act though? Your statements seem a little inconsistent.

I think of it as treatment and hopefully prevention. A lot of people are against it because of possible side effects from hormonal therapy, but I think the kids are more important.

Pedophilia isn't an illness, IMO.

Let's separate punishment from treatment.

1. Punishment for sexual assault,

2. Treatment for pedophilia.

never mind what my opinions are, what do you have to say about the topic, as I am not the topic here.

I believe pedophilia is a weakness. Most people who molest children know right from wrong.

Yes, but if you do a search like I have, (local) you need to know the offenders name, I believe or think.

I've tried to look up prisoner releases to find out who was housed and type of offense in my ghetto, with zero results. Since the state doesn't inform locals in my ghetto, we have no idea who they're housing here, or the types of offenses they've committed.

I don't know if this would be helpful for you, but if you notice there are two boxes on the right side of this site. The second box gives an option to select your state.
