Multiculturalism In Baltimore:Tension w/Black and Latino High School Students[W:18]

Re: Multiculturalism In Baltimore:Tension Between Black and Latino High School Studen

Diversity is our strength! Apparently black and Latino high school students in Baltimore can't get along and are self-segregating:

Tensions Rise At Digital Harbor High Between African-American & Latino Students « CBS Baltimore

I was fortunate to attend an all White high school........we all got along and actually learned......

I went to a mixed-race high school, and we got along and actually learned, but that was back in the early 70's, when teachers and school admin had control of the students, and they made us behave like human beings.

Which is where 90% of our problems rest. Black, white, brown, yellow, red, green or blue. Too many schools scared to death of lawsuits have so handicapped teachers and the kids have basically figured it out. Parents want their kids taught, but heaven forbid you "hurt their selfesteem" or worse, hold them accountable.

Multiculturalism is about not assimilating. It's about being different. It's about feeling superior to other cultures. It's about rejecting American culture and customs. It's a weapon used by the Groucho Marxist in America.

Generally, High Schools tend to frown on violence regardless of anyone's race. They usually tend to "make" people behave like human beings.

God forbid you would have to do so.

When was the last time you were in a high school?

When was the last time you were in a high school?

As a student, or in general?

I haven't spent much time in one since 1991. At the time however, the Friars didn't look too kindly on white kids fighting each other either.

So 2 decades ago.

My son attends John Jay Highschool, the SEA magnet side of the house. When they had home games for the freshmen football, it was almost scary. Scary because they only had access to bathrooms in the main part of campus. They were TRASHED, not like, TP everywhere, I'm talking soap dispensers destroyed, steel mirrors bent, one time the toilet looked like someone took a brick to it. Son says there is a fight every day, like in the middle of the hallways fights everyday.

He had one class with the regular students, and he hated it. Kids playing on their phones, ignoring the teacher, several fights broke out. He made sure this sophomore year would be 100% SEA side. And JJ is a highly RATED school in San Antonio. Scary man, scary.

That's too bad, but it doesn't mean they're going to allow racial violence

It's not about racial anything man. It's about discipline. IT's not there anymore. My wife's father was the ROTC commander at the Old Towne high school and he could tell you tales of parents going off on the school if a kid was disciplined more often then you'd care to believe. The rules against so much as touching a student are INSANE. That's Old Towne Maine, a fairly snow white place.

Re: Multiculturalism In Baltimore:Tension Between Black and Latino High School Studen

excerpt from linked article...

“They are going to work with more cultural diversity in the classroom with the students, more community involvement with the community, with the school,” said Michelle Smalls, parent."

Oh yeah, more "cultural diversity"... that's ALL that's needed. Gee golly whiz...that's what they have NOW. The two cultures obviously hate one another. Especially after the murder of the Hispanic kid.

This probably would have made a chapter in Colin Flaherty's book Reviews. - White Girl Bleed a Lot, Knockout Game, black on white crime..

Except it's blacks vs hispanics rather than white people.

Re: Multiculturalism In Baltimore:Tension Between Black and Latino High School Studen

If anyone wants a real eye opener try visiting a City of Atlanta high school........there's no learning going on......just a prelude to incarceration. The teachers had to cheat for the students in order to 'pass' the federally mandated standardized testing. A number of teachers/administrators have been criminally prosecuted........but what were they supposed to do......these kids simply can't pass the tests in large numbers.

Re: Multiculturalism In Baltimore:Tension Between Black and Latino High School Studen

If violence breaks out and a black person is injured, the assailant will be called "white" instead of Latino, per recent trends in propaganda manipulation.
