Obama admin. told wary military officials to ‘suck it up and salute’ on Taliban relea

Re: Obama admin. told wary military officials to ‘suck it up and salute’ on Taliban r

We no longer properly vet our Presidents anymore...What's worse is even when we know we've made a horrible mistake, we don't hold them to account either...Nope, we are a nation of ******s now.

Rather than take Obama's "suck it up, and salute" bull ****, we should tell him back, just "suck it."

And the same people who supported Barrack Obama, and were offended by any vetting or background checks, now want Hillary Clinton as a candidate. What's happened to this once great nation?

I really do believe in the American people and the whole idea of e pluribus unum as one of history's great achievements, but electing BHO to a second term was certainly a shock to the system.

Re: Obama admin. told wary military officials to ‘suck it up and salute’ on Taliban r

Not trusting the military is always a wise policy for the leader of a civilian government.

The Military seems to have acted with greater regard for the people and the Constitution than the President. The greatest threat to the American people right now is the militarization of their civilian forces.

Military and all of its agencies act like most public service unions do, down to having their own lobbying presences through various political organizations. No reason for the guy who has to look after *EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING* to trust them or any other particular group to know what's best for society.

Re: Obama admin. told wary military officials to ‘suck it up and salute’ on Taliban r

Barrack Obama naturally had no military experience, no managerial experience (even on the lowest level), never hired anyone, never fired anyone, never signed a pay check, and in fact never did anything of consequence in his life. And yet, despite this lack of accomplishment, the electorate decided he should be President - twice. It's hard to blame Barrack Obama for this when it was there for everyone to see..

It obvious that 52% of the electorate didn't see it.

And what happens if the guy who has to look after *EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING* is a lying incompetent? What next?

Or didn't want to see it, which is why they didn't want him properly vetted.

I disagree.

The only mission of the JCOS is to advise the POTUS. According to former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Obama ignores the JCOS and the Obama White House don't listen to the military and don't trust the military.

Only an incompetent Commander in Chief would surround himself with "yes men" from a rifle platoon second looey all the way up to CnC.

If Obama were have been a rifle platoon butter bar in Vietnam, he probably would have been fragged after his first patrol in the bush by the survivors of his platoon.

Well, first of all, you would have to find the smartest truth seeker with the least emotion and opinion and have him tell you whether a leader is incompetent or being judged through the cloud of the observer's own ignorance and biased perceptions.

The closest thing the general public has to an advisor is their media outlet of choice, which tends to write opinions that adhere to those that listen so that they'll get the audience they need to, uh, eat, have a house, and put their kids through college.

However, the ancient purpose of an advisor is to be someone who tells the listener the things that are painful, complicated, and difficult, both practically and philosophically. To fulfil that role, the advisor must be extremely intelligent, unerringly knowledgeable, and utterly indifferent to political outcomes.

If you can find such a man to tell us Obama is incompetent, I'll be the first to propose a course of action to revise the situation.

... this smacks of belief in military government and coups. Obama isn't a squad leader or any other military person, he is the head of a civilian government that the military took an oath to. And I repeat, he shouldn't trust the military more than any other association of people who argue that the problems of society as a whole can be resolved in a way that aligns with the goals and interests of their association.

His incompetence is everywhere and one needn't be a professional to see it, any more than we need be a pro to know when a quarterback can't throw a ball or or a singer can't hold a tune. If you don't see it it has to be by choice.

Or, the cloud of your own perceptions and/or ignorance is causing you to think that. It's possible aren't even able to *see* the real Obama because you lack the ability to think past and through your own thoughts.

You wouldn't know for sure, since the influence of a person's thoughts, feelings, and perceptions on their beliefs is similar to hypnosis, it takes years of rigorous mental disciple to make a crack in it.

But as someone who sees, I can tell you that watching Obama (or any other politician) is like watching one of the bolts in the mechanisms of a big truck; looking at one of them doesn't tell you anything meaningful about how the truck runs, you have to have to be able to apprehend a thousand distinct operations and see how it all comes together. Generally, Obama isn't allow to be personally "incompetent" any more than a Queen can move like a Knight on the chessboard, or a Pawn like a Bishop. It isn't legally or politically possible for Obama to be incompetent; like Bill Gates losing more money than he makes, it would take a concentrated, wilful effort.

... . Obama isn't a squad leader or any other military person, .

Obama probably would have found himself standing before the Man during a NJP because he was too incompetent being the latrine orderly.

You should follow your passions and make a comic of Obama's adventures in the hypothetical universe of him serving in Vietnam, but this argument is getting stale.

EDIT:

I would be careful with your representations . . . representing a commander-and-chief getting fragged might be interpreted badly in a legal context.

You heard the news yesterday that the Secret Service want's to go after sarcasm on social media on the web about Obama. I also heard that and did think about it before posting my response.

It feels like 1936 Germany in America today doesn't it ?

It seems you spend a lot of time watching one of the bolts in the mechanisms of a big truck. Keep it up.

Why do I suspect "suck it up and salute" was not the actual wording?

You really think it's more likely that senior state department officials said "suck it up and salute" rather than that just being frustrated paraphrasing?
