That number is something that must be figured into the equation.
I believe we are currently missing 3 DoD contractors.

With that said. Taking POWs was not the MO of the people we are/were fighting.

He is still on the US Army rolls. As with any deserter, we get them and try them. He will have his day in court.

From what I understand, he was not free to leave where he was in the last 5 years. Incarcerated vs. captured?

The military will do their due diligence. I am sure they will look at the evidence and hand out an appropriate punishment if needed.

He is a soldier, his actions will be judged.

Ask Senator McCain how he feels now about taking extra beatings in Vietnam, when they were ready to let him go; but he wasn't leaving till his men were freed. And then this! Obama trades five bars of gold for a bar of lead.

And now he will have a court-martial. People will weigh the evidence and make an informed decision. The will make an informed decision about a uniformed military member. He is still a US soldier.

I don't think people give McCain enough credence for his stellar leadership as a POW. The man is a hero for his actions.
