"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
Though let's be honest, which party is 'in power' now? Cause whichever it is, is gonna get more attention and more criticism… I'll laugh my backside off if we get an ® president next time as then I'll magically be a leftist.
Angry Parents Compare Bergdahl Coverup to Benghazi | Power Line
At least one set of parents is pretty pissed off and wants 'the truth.'
Do those that celebrate the swap agree with the parents? If not, did you agree with Cindy Sheehan's 'right' to get 'the truth'? Just checking for consistency.
I found this story on Yahoo this morning: US concluded in 2010 that Bergdahl walked away.
Here's a link to the story: U.S. concluded in 2010 that Bergdahl walked away
I suppose that eventually more will come out on this, but after reading this story it looks like this guy deserted his unit before he was captured by the Taliban.
Several American soldiers died looking for this guy.
I just saw an AP photo caption that said that his parents are proud of him. I don't know exactly what he did that they are proud of. Maybe we'll learn that eventually.

Why would he leave his unit, where he was obviously safest, and just walk off somewhere? He is lucky they didn't cut his head off.
Found another story: If Bowe Bergdahl is a deserter, what should be done with him?

I don't believe that this guy deserves an honorable discharge and full benefits, it appears that a number of American soldiers lost their lives because of the choices that he made.
I'm not saying that we need to lock him up, but we sure don't need to pin any medals on him.
He's mighty lucky, he's coming home in one piece. And he got promoted to Sergeant.
A number of the American soldiers who were looking for him came home in boxes. And I didn't hear anything about any of them getting promoted. Well, I guess that they were just doing their job when they got killed.
