Embattled VA chief Shinseki resigns

It's existed for a long time, in fact Obama ran on updating and improving the VA in 2007 leading up to the 2008 election.

Well, he was in charge so he should take the fall. He and the prior VA leaders and our Federal Government do a disservice to our veterans when they allow them to die without appointments or wait (as in Arizona) 150 days to get an appointment while cooking the books for their own benefit. My question to the Obama administration would be: You ran on VA issues in 2008 yet it took a scandal of veterans dying while waiting for appointments and bi-partisan outrage to bring attention to the issue. Why didn't you follow up on your campaign promises regarding the VA and while Shinseki doesn't deserve all the blame, will you Mr. President use your bully pulpit to force the VA to come clean and provide complete and immediate information to investigators?
 
Unfortunately it is akin to a Captain of a ship being "fired" if his ship runs aground even though he is asleep in his bed. I asked about it starting before but I was just curious about that, I wasnt using it as an excuse. When something this big happens, extreme consequences need to happen. I also think it might warrant criminal charges for some.

I'm not a doctor, but my dad was a vet. Years ago, vet doctors did surgery on him and the operation ended up being a success, but their patient died. I blamed them for performing an operation on an already weakened patient, not strong enough to survive a surgery.

I'm a vet too, and I receive great care where I reside, so, yep, the VA in mine, and your opinions need to step up and begin or continue good care throughout their system, not just great here and crappy elsewhere.

Heya Ockham. :2wave: Whats the Number up to now? I think it was 42.

Even Montell Williams jumped all over BO on this issue with the VA. He also wanted Obama to Apologize. As you stated.....it was a promise of his. Another that was broken. Even the wait times increased each year under Obama.

He hasn't done anything except go PC with the Military, cut the Military, and tear up the command.

It was just another political talking point to get elected, he really had no intention (I'm sure) to do any of it as long as it got him a few more votes.

The VA and a Congressional Committee faced off a few days ago.

Congressmen on both sides of the aisle were complaining about a lack of transparency and the VAs refusal to hand over specific documents.

The VA and the WH dont seem to interested in getting to the bottom of this scandal.

But you said "this" has been going on for a long time. Since the scandal is about the falsification of documents, that is what I thought you were talking about.

So you do not know if the falsification has been going on for longer that the Obama administration?

Maybe you should tell them that, because you can YouTube the Congressional hearings and tell pretty quickly that the Committee isn't getting the information they've requested.
 
I don't blame the problem on any one person, but I do blame one person for claiming he'd fix it only to let it become even worse during his regime.

Don't sell DR short. Intellect was never his shortcoming. But once he came to a conclusion he sometimes over committed.:peace

Heya JH. :2wave: Well.....I am a lil biased. I didn't care for him dumping on Condi. I was basically meaning he couldn't hold a candle to her when it comes to intelligence.

Well.....I figured what helped DR was all the knowledge from the Pentagon. Intelligence and learning operations. I don't think he has the academics on her. Nor understanding the Russians and Communists.

I wonder what is worse. They lie or your acceptance of their lies? Or do you only fret when someone you dislike lies?
