I think at a certain point they are going to have to help themselves. NATO has been there now for nearly 15 years, have trained the ANA and helped the afghan people will their infastructure/ governign abilities. At this point what more can the USA provide?

They have been helping themselves. More than 12,000 members of the ANA and ANP have been killed fighting the Taliban and defending their country. I hope our continued military presence will do exactly what the link outlines.

So far that event hasn't happened. 200 million people may dislike what is going on, but less than 1% actually care enough to do something. That is the sad reality.
Yea, people need to show up and vote for people that wont waste out tax dollars.

If I was an American I would be furious with this. It's going to keep coming out of the tax payers pocket and the servicemen/women over there will remain targets for the foreseeable future.
You don't withdraw troops in infinity war.

Yes, it's been quite the success over the past 13 or so years, yes? All that stability we've brought to the region. Really making a positive impact on the daily lives of the people.

No agreement is etched in stone.

The new Afghan President will be elected soon. A new American President will be elected soon. Congress has to ratify and fund any agreement.

Lots of things have to happen before anything is final.

This is infinity war, there's no plan to ever get out of the region. We'll always have an excuse for drone bombing civilians.
