Nobody said it was. The other judges held the conservative view which is why their ruling differed from Roberts. Or are you suggesting that the other judges who voted to uphold it aren't really conservatives?

I didn't mention online voting. I said registration of voters. To answer your question however, yes, it has been proposed, but not made into law... yet.

The Conservative belief must not have been applicable.

John Conyers is a good example of what is wrong with the black community today but I think you're making more out of this then is really there. Someone who has been in Congress since the Charlemagne administration should definitely have the process down by now but his petitions were thrown out on technicalities that really go against the spirit of the petitioning process.

Not sure why this is a partisan issue. The people impacted are the democrat challengers to Conyers seat and the democrats of Michigan.

"Conyers turned in 2,000 signatures and more than 800 were disqualified for a variety or reasons, ranging from the signature wasn't from a registered voter or that voter didn't live in the district, the petition was misdated or contained an improper address.

Rev. Horace Sheffield, the Detroit Democrat who is running for Conyers' seat in Congress, challenged the petitions, arguing that many past candidates have been able to abide by the rules requiring petition cirulators be registered voters and that Conyers should too.

Another 644 signatures were thrown out by Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett because they were obtained by circulators who were either not registered voters or weren't properly registered to vote. As a result, Garrett ruled that Conyers had turned in only 592 valid signatures and she threw him off the ballot."

Which has a precedent in a California Supreme Court case from 1948, Perez v. Sharp.

The funny thing is that it was a oppinion from Antonin scalia's dissent in Lawrence v. Texas that has provided the judges the ability to rule in favor of gay marriage.

Which is why I used it as an example of Roberts not being a consistent conservative. He is, as I said, a consistent consensus builder. He isn't a consistent conservative.

Is being a consistent conservative a requirement for judges?

Either way. He asked for examples. Or..you could look at just about the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals puts out.
