Valerie Plame, ex-intelligence officials slam White House for 'astonishing' CIA leak

"It looks like a rookie mistake, but it's in year six of the administration," retired Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden and former CIA director
told Newsmax, after Obama’s press team inadvertently listed the spy on Obama’s itinerary for his four hour trip to Afghanistan on Sunday.

Valerie Plame, the ex-CIA operative outed by the W. Bush administration, also chimed in.

“Astonishing: White House mistakenly identifies CIA chief in Afghanistan,” she tweeted in a sardonic message on Monday.

I seriously doubt you know what the job was.

i'm not arguing for complete isolationism. we just need to devote most of our resources to fixing our own country for a while. we've been in Afghanistan for too long.

And? Are you confused by her reaction?

So then it's no big deal that his name was outed because it was just a mistake?

I know where you're going with your line of questioning. Valerie was asked by her superiors to send them email Joe's qualifications. This was spun by the Right as her recommending him, it's BS. They asked her, it wasn't the other way around.

One of the few states that the GOP might hang on to after it is reduced to a minor, regional party in about thirty years is Idaho.

Where I'm going is asking you to clarify the "embarrassment". It wouldn't embarrass Wilson if his wife helped him land the gig. It would embarrass him if it came out that his wife cheated on him, was a hooker on the side, got busted selling crack to teeangers, etc.

I know about her input on his appointment. Nothing embarrassing about it. Is that why you think Armitage gave her name to Novak, because he though that would "embarrass" him?

No but you seem very cavalier about it because it was just a mistake.

If there is truth to the howling we heard when Plame's name was outed, that her life was in jeopardy and so on, wouldn't that be the case with this guy, times like 100,000? Does the left fear for this guy's life the way they did Plame's life?
